What is RadBeacon? The RadBeacon™ app is a configuration utility for RadBeacon proximity beacons from Radius Networks that support Apple's iBeacon™ proximity services as well as other emerging proximity services. The app requires an iOS iPhone, iPad or iPod touch running iOS 7.1 or higher and equipped with Bluetooth 4.0 capabilities. With the app, you can scan for nearby configurable Radius Networks beacons, display each beacon's operating settings, and make modifications to those settings.

Software Features and Description

1. In order to re-enter configurable mode for a RadBeacon X2, remove the front cover and switch the beacon power switch to OFF and back to ON.

2. In order to re-enter configurable mode for a RadBeacon Tag, remove the front cover and press the configuration push button switch near the coin cell battery.

3. In order to re-enter configurable mode for a RadBeacon USB, remove and restore power to the device.

4. Calibrate the measured power value of the beacon settings to ensure optimal proximity events and ranging.

5. Validate the accuracy of your beacon settings by quickly verifying the ranging behavior of your device in proximity to your configured beacon.

6. The RadBeacon™ app is the configuration utility for RadBeacon proximity beacons from Radius Networks that support Apple's iBeacon™ proximity services as well as other emerging proximity services.

7. Submit a valid PIN to update the settings for this beacon.

8. Submit a valid PIN to reset the settings for your beacon to factory defaults.

9. A beacon set in configurable mode will be configurable for up to 30 minutes or until you lock the device again.

10. Update the measured power value with the results of your calibration activity and update your settings.

11. Submit a valid PIN to prevent connections from remote Bluetooth 4.0 devices to the beacon configuration service.

Download and install the RadBeacon app on your Windows 10,8,7 or Mac in 4 simple steps below:

Download an Android emulator for PC and Mac:
Get either Bluestacks or the Nox App >> . We recommend Bluestacks because you can easily find solutions online if you run into problems while using it. Download Bluestacks Pc or Mac software Here >> .

Install the emulator on your PC or Mac:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.

Using RadBeacon on PC [Windows 7/ 8/8.1/ 10/ 11]:

Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "RadBeacon"
The search will reveal the RadBeacon app icon. Open, then click "Install".
Once RadBeacon is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including RadBeacon.
Now enjoy RadBeacon on PC.

Download the Amazon-Appstore » (U.S only)
- Click on "Get" to begin installation. It also automatically installs Windows Subsystem for Android.
- After installation, Goto Windows Start Menu or Apps list » Open the Amazon Appstore » Login (with Amazon account)

For non-U.S users, Download the OpenPC software »
- Upon installation, open OpenPC app » goto Playstore on PC » click Configure_Download. This will auto-download Google Play Store on your Windows 11.

Installing RadBeacon:
- Login to your computer's PlayStore or Amazon AppStore.
- Search for "RadBeacon" » Click "Install" to install RadBeacon
- RadBeacon will now be available on your windows start-menu.

RadBeacon functions

- Scan for nearby configurable RadBeacons

- Review detailed settings of each RadBeacon discovered

- Modify settings such as beacon name, type, UUID, major, minor, measured power, advertisement rate, and transmit power

- Apply changes to settings and submit a valid PIN to update the settings for the beacon

- Calibrate measured power value of the beacon settings for optimal proximity events and ranging

- Range the beacon to validate the accuracy of the settings

- Update the PIN for the beacon

- Reset the device to the original factory settings

- Lock the device to prevent connections from remote Bluetooth 4.0 devices to the beacon configuration service

It has two flaws: 1. It does not check that iPhone's Bluetooth receiver is on, and if it is off, it seems the app is broken. 2. Once a beacon is updated, it needs to be disconnected and connected before the app can modify it again, otherwise the app shows "connection timeout" errors.

I have Roomie Remote and wanted room proximity to switch rooms as I entered. Took all of 10 minutes to set up the rooms. This iBeacon has some hidden potential for many applications. I went with this app USB beacons.

Crash very often

I bought several beacons at my home and try to configure all of them. But the program crash very often, and also sometimes it cannot communicate to some particular beacons.
