Top Pcmac Reviews

  • Good but needs more encouragement built in for user

    By Runningkiwi (Pcmac user)

This app is primarily set up for data collection rather than for the user. It is fine if you want to track drinking & urges to drink. I suggest the authors add in more "atta-boys" for NOT drinking. When one first stops encouragement is very important - especially the first couple of weeks. I also found the goal-setting component confusing to set up and ended up kinda ignoring that - there seemed to be no way of editing or deleting goals (where I made initial errors in entering). One more suggestion: I found this app 3 days after last drink. I couldn't find how to back date to accommodate that. In spite of these minor aspects I liked the app as it's clear and not gimmicky.
  • Good dashboard, advice imprecise

    By Odoggydog (Pcmac user)

The weekly dashboard and goal setting is the best I have seen among similar apps. However, as far as the recommendations go, I find it odd that there is no differentiation based on gender or weight. So the same information is being presented to a 120 lb woman as a 210 lb man, which doesn't really make sense given the vast difference in ability to metabolize between these two hypothetical individuals.
  • Needs daily tracking for successes

    By Skari8 (Pcmac user)

Suggestion for update: There's no method for tracking successful days. If I successfully abstain, there's no reason to go into the app. There actually is a place where a check mark appears per day, but it's automatically checked first thing in the morning like, "Today is Day 3 of your goal." Instead, make ME go there at the END of the day to check-off whether I kept to my goal. Tracking urges and drinks is a nice feature, but if I have neither of those, I don't need to access the app. It's a satisfying feeling to check off another day that I didn't drink, to be accountable by knowing I must note it in my app. But this app doesn't have that feature. Include that, and it'll be much a better use for this app.
  • Incredible, detailed, thorough app that legitimately sets me up for success

    By CampbellClydesdale (Pcmac user)

The algorithms, the ability to track triggers, to track the urge to drink and not just drinks, the pictures of what the ounces look like in a wine cup or mug, and the general encouragement makes me feel like I can actually accomplish my goals. Incredible, incredible app. I'd recommend it to anyone from someone who wants to quit cold turkey, to a casual drinker who just wants to keep themselves in check, to someone on the verge of becoming alcoholic and wants to pull back, to an alcoholic. You can do this!
