What is Autodesk FormIt?

Install Autodesk FormIt app on your Windows in 4 steps below:

Download an Android emulator for PC:
Get either Bluestacks or the Nox App >> . We recommend Bluestacks because you can easily find solutions online if you run into problems while using it. Download Bluestacks PC software Here >> .

Install the emulator:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.

Using Autodesk FormIt on PC [Windows 10/ 11]:

Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "Autodesk FormIt"
The search will reveal the Autodesk FormIt app icon. Open, then click "Install".
Once Autodesk FormIt is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including Autodesk FormIt.
Now enjoy Autodesk FormIt on PC.

To get started, Download the OpenPC software »
- Upon installation, open OpenPC app » goto "Playstore on PC" » click "Configure_Download" button. This will auto-download and install PlayStore on your computer.

To use Autodesk FormIt,
- Login to the PlayStore we just installed
- Search for "Autodesk FormIt" » then Click "Install".
- Autodesk FormIt will now be available on your Windows start-menu.

- Difficult to export files to a standard accepted by 3D printing services

- Cannot import/export projects between FormIt and AutoCAD tablet app

Wonderful app, mostly misunderstood

This free the app app is simply wonderful. The user that takes the time to learn it, will be highly rewarded. Keep in mind that the app will not replace high end 3d creation/visualization tools from the app or others but will allow you to give basic shape to most architectural and even industrial design concepts. I use the app on my iPad Pro with the Apple Pencil with great ease. Highly recommend.
Very nice, but not compatible??

This app is really great to have on a tablet, to do 3D projects. But what I can’t understand is why projects can’t be imported/exported between this and the (also the app) AutoCAD tablet app. Shouldn’t this be a given?

I had been playing with FormIt for over an hour making fun and interesting designs before even thinking of looking for the "help" button. Very intuitive, snappy response. Though not it's intended design, I am using it for designing sculptures and find it the easiest to use for my needs yet. Barely any learning curve. Syncs drawings to the app's cloud service, which has a clunky interface. Haven't figured out how to export from Autodesk360 cloud to a file standard accepted by 3d printing services, would be great if they could clean up the workflow for that - again, not the intended design use of Formit, but since it's such a great cad program, pretty please make it easier for a novice to get a fabrication-service ready file out? I would happily pay for this app.
