Download an Android emulator for PC:

To get started, Download the OpenPC software »
- Upon installation, open OpenPC app » goto "Playstore on PC" » click "Configure_Download" button. This will auto-download and install PlayStore on your computer.

To use BIM 360 Field,
- Login to the PlayStore we just installed
- Search for "BIM 360 Field" » then Click "Install".
- BIM 360 Field will now be available on your Windows start-menu.

- Issue and Checklist Management: Create and manage issues and checklists on an iPad in the field. Compile quality, safety, or commissioning checklist results for trades, scope, and/or time periods. Preconfigured checklists help make inspections faster and more consistent.

- User Interface and Navigation: Paper-like forms are familiar and easy to access and complete. Link BIM 360 Glue models to the BIM 360 Field equipment database to track progress. Mark-up drawings and photos to illustrate issues and/or fortify checklists.

- Accessibility and Collaboration: Access the latest field data whether online or offline. Share document changes with field and office teams instantly. Store and distribute 2D construction drawings, BIM Models, plans, images, specs, and company policies.

- Manage Daily Jobsite Performance: Enter notes and upload pictures taken on the iPad to give a complete picture of what happened. Daily Update feature provides a digital record/proof of jobsite conditions to share with stakeholders. Track construction labor and manpower: Who is doing what, when and where. Daily Update feature automatically collects and displays the current jobsite weather conditions.

Awesome for construction and collaboration

I have been using the App since it was Vela Systems and it keeps getting better and better now that they are a part of Autodesk. NOTE: this is not just an app for one-off markups of drawings and documents (there are plenty of cheap ones for that)- it is the mobile component of the Autodesk this app product. It is industrial strength and intended for companies to create and manage serious programs for Quality, Safety, Commissioning and Handover using either 2D or the app. You use the iPad app either online or offline in the field, then sync up to the web. Anyone you give access to can then get to your issues and markups on the web via the web. It is not intended to work as a single-user application. This app gets full functionality if you are connected to a user account, which also lets you sync w the web, the cloud-based way you can send issues to other project participants, including subcontractors, the architect, owner and anybody else you want. So, in short, if you want a strong field management platform to use the iPad in construction, this is the product for you. If you are looking for a drawing markup tool for a single user, I'd suggest checking out other apps.
Keeps you organized on the site

This app is great for keeping up to date with what's going on with my projects. When I'm walking the job I can take photos and create issues for problems I see and they automatically go to the subs to fix. Syncing with the central database is key - everybody stays on the same page and subs can know about problems to fix without me having to go tell them or waiting for the next meeting. And I can see what issues are already there so I don't enter dupes. Having drawings out on the iPad is great too - I can figure out where I am or how something is supposed to be built without going back to the trailer.

Great app for work in the field and in the office. Tracking issues, managing quality control, utilizing the app in the field and on the go has improved our work. I can access reports and issues anywhere I go. I can review equipment, status, and % complete to mitigate risk in operations and in cost. Tracking items with subs, vendors and A/E teams is effortless through reports, scheduled correspondence to all affected team members is key. Senior management can quickly grasp the work in various stages of the project through reports and the dashboard. I look forward to using this on every project and the many more innovations Vela and Autodesk create.
Missing basic functions

Still wont allow me to sync my library in the background. I have to give up functionality of my iPad for several hours waiting for library to sync. Doesn't allow for batch optimization of documents so I have to wait for each page I view. Sure it's only once but embarrassing when a client is waiting on you to bring up a page that has not yet been viewed. These features need to be added ASAP. Not sure why it didn't have these in the beginning??
