  • Works well, but has some issues

    By tonkinite (Pcmac user)

On my Retina MacBook Pro with 10.7.4, the App itself works great, I see notifications at login and other notifications as things happen to change, drives being mounted & unmounted (like when Google Chrome is doing a self update) for example. I am not seeing and have not seen the other issues reported here about power and IP notifications which *could* be due to bugs in the App, but could also be a sign of a power cable that is starting to fail or a hardware router with bad DHCP settings (which could cause IPs to expire and be reacquired frequently). I do however see apparent signs that this app 1.3.2 (or Growl 1.4) has a significant memory leak. I have iStat Menus installed which show me that this app uses up to 1+ GB over time. Logging out and presumably quitting this app causes the memory value to reset. Hopefully this will be addressed by the Developer eventually. A memory leak *could* be the root cause of some of the other issues reported here.
  • No update in Year and a Half

    By BunsandChouChou (Pcmac user)

With all of these reviews crying out for extra functionality, you’d think that more would be forthcoming with this app, but no. It notifies me 10 times a day that bonjour is running! The old one is free. The group gets some money and you figure it would be better now but It’s just Ok for the money.
  • Good application but could be missing Thunderbolt monitor

    By currter (Pcmac user)

All I can say is I think this is missing the monitor for connections on the Thunderbolt port(s). Since Apple has eliminated the ethernet port, I was given a Thunderbolt to Ethernet/Gigabit adapter and once I plugged it in and the network cable into the jack, I did not see any notification of the network connection directly to the router via LAN cable. I may see when the IP address changes from the Wi-Fi connection that it is disconnected in favor of the higher priority direct LAN connection via Ethernet cable to the router but I do not see when it has connected. Perhaps this is an oversight. Thank you.
  • Power Usage Notifications

    By orbeavers14 (Pcmac user)

Ever since the 2.0 update, the battery power notification has been updating me every so often, at very random times. And will say "computer running low on power, plug in" when i've still got over an hour left. I don't know if this is a bug, or something that can be adjusted in the settings. but if it's the later, it is not explained well at all. Giving 4 stars for that, but other wise, this thing is really nice!! it just stinks about what I mentioned above, as i have found myself paying less attention to the notifications, my main thing was network notifiers, but if i'm ignoring it now, doesn't do too much good.
