Software Features and Description

1. Be sure your iPad is on a wireless network that has access to your Videohub router first! To configure each interface button, just press and hold to select source numbers and icons.

2. Installation is simple, and all you need to do is select Videohub in your iPad settings to enter the IP address for your Videohub router.

3. Check the Videohub router instruction manual on the Blackmagic Design web site for more information.

4. Videohub Control uses a familiar push button interface that's fast and easy to use.

Install Blackmagic Videohub app on your Windows in 4 steps below:

Download an Android emulator for PC:

Install the emulator:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.

Using Blackmagic Videohub on PC [Windows 10/ 11]:

Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "Blackmagic Videohub"
The search will reveal the Blackmagic Videohub app icon. Open, then click "Install".
Once Blackmagic Videohub is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including Blackmagic Videohub.
Now enjoy Blackmagic Videohub on PC.

To get started, Download the OpenPC software »
- Upon installation, open OpenPC app » goto "Playstore on PC" » click "Configure_Download" button. This will auto-download and install PlayStore on your computer.

To use Blackmagic Videohub,
- Login to the PlayStore we just installed
- Search for "Blackmagic Videohub" » then Click "Install".
- Blackmagic Videohub will now be available on your Windows start-menu.

✔ Pros:

- The app allows for easy control of routing and deck control of an 11 Edit Suite facility through an iPad.

- The app works great and does what it is supposed to.

☹ Cons:

- The app isn't as customizable as the desktop software, in that you cannot remove buttons you don't need.

- The resolution isn't optimized for iPad Retina display, so edges and text are a bit fuzzy.

- The app hasn't been updated since 2011, and Blackmagic says they don't have plans to update, which means it won't run on iOS 11 or later.

- The lack of updates means that users won't be able to patch security vulnerabilities on their iPads.

- The fact that the app hasn't been updated for years is embarrassing for Blackmagic, especially since they advertise it as a feature of the smart Videohub on their website.

The app works great and does what it is supposed to. However, it isn't as customizable as the desktop software, in that you cannot remove buttons you don't need. Also, the resolution isn't optimized for iPad Retina display, so edges and text are a bit fuzzy. Fix those two things and I would love it. Pretty please?

Update: the app updated the app to support the new iOS. We are now able to get all of our pads updated and still running smooth. -- -- -- -- App hasn't been updated since 2011. IOS 11 won't run 32-bit apps, and the app says they don't have plans to update. We use iPads all over our facility to interface our Videohub router. Now we won't be able to update the iPads moving forward to patch security vulnerabilities.

The fact that I can spend so much money on a current hardware only to have the iOS software be years behind is so embarrassing for black magic. Black magic even advertises this as a feature of the smart Videohub on their website, yet it doesn’t even work with the current hardware. Should have bought AJA! BMD you better respond to me and work towards a fix, or lose countless thousands of dollars in future sales to me.

Absolutely wonderful application. the app-Design has made a wonderful Router with good supporting software to control it. I can control the routing and deck control of our 11 Edit Suite facility through an iPad. It doesn't get any easier than this.
