Disaster from start to finish
By App Troll (Pcmac user)
Builder-retained company installed cameras and the app was their product of choice. Day 1 the app that runs them crashes everyime the cameras are accessed. (iOS 11x.) In addition to setting up port fowarding, we had to install the the app VMS for Mac for cofiguration, because the app doesnt work with the WiFi while at home (seriously, home is WiFi). Developer didn’t update Mac software for months which meant yet another service call. Now playback is unavailable, presumably the onboard SD cards (only records 96 anyway) in the cameras are fried *again*—because solid state in summer heat is foreseable and bad recommedation. Done with this product and app.
If you still have a choice, go elsewhere, instead of finding out after invoicing that the app is your moneypit. Seriously, your installer’s choice of the app is a red flag to find a new system and a new security system consultant.

For what I paid I am getting ripped off
By Tiger150123 (Pcmac user)
I would be better off using this as a doorstop or a new frisbee than using it for a security system that is reliable. I was told Arlo and Blink are too “DYI” to be any good. If so I have no idea what I have other than a piece of junk.
The amount of connection errors I have plus the near impossible playback controls with this app equates to daily frustration and zero reliance on my house being safe. the app should be embarrassed by this product. As I look at the versions it is a telling sign with the manufacturer has not updated the app in 2 years.

You can rewind time by opening this app...
By jraymonds (Pcmac user)
...as in as soon as you open the app you are teleported to the state of the art ten years ago. Horrifying user interface from almost all perspectives. No, you can’t pinch to zoom anywhere. Yes, landscape aspect ratios are oddly squished if viewed vertically. Saving to the camera roll takes an extra step....and the list goes on.
I wonder if any of the people that work here have opened up a modern cloud app and seen a modern UI. There is no excuse not to bring this level of service and quality to an NVR system which should actually have less bandwidth overhead than Nest etc.

LUMA works with both windows and Mac
By VIEWskizzle (Pcmac user)
New the app VMS app for Mac and windows works on both OS, and yes you can zoom with the the app app with no problem.. if you have problems with this app, you probably have a terrible network, and should learn about network setup before setting up surveillance. Great product
