What is Seeing AI? Seeing AI is a free app designed for the blind and low vision community that uses AI to narrate the world around them. It recognizes short text, documents, products, people, scenes, currency, color, handwriting, light, and images in other apps. The app is optimized for use with VoiceOver and is built to help users achieve more by leveraging the power of the cloud and artificial intelligence.

Software Features and Description

Download and install the Seeing AI app on your Windows 10,8,7 or Mac in 4 simple steps below:

Download an Android emulator for PC and Mac:

Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "Seeing AI"

Download the Amazon-Appstore » (U.S only)
- Click on "Get" to begin installation. It also automatically installs Windows Subsystem for Android.
- After installation, Goto Windows Start Menu or Apps list » Open the Amazon Appstore » Login (with Amazon account)

For non-U.S users, Download the OpenPC software »
- Upon installation, open OpenPC app » goto Playstore on PC » click Configure_Download. This will auto-download Google Play Store on your Windows 11.

Seeing AI functions

- Short Text recognition: Speaks text as soon as it appears in front of the camera.

- Document recognition: Provides audio guidance to capture a printed page and recognizes the text along with its original formatting.

it might give the wrong color and it cant read hand-righting, this aside the light channel and text channels are fantastic. it will however tell you the color no problem if say your looking at a computer screen, but it's not very good at sky colors. it's seen channel is getting better but it's a bit wonky to. just an idea for the next update is give us the ability to read maps and weather radars and such. this could be implemented by getting the photo, and being able to explore it, say theres a text on the top left, right now it'll read that, and say theres a map legend on the right from the top going down, it'll read that no problem, but middle of the photo where the map and the colors are it's totally dead, does absolutely nothing. this could be revolutionary if your app could actually tell us the maps, it would not just help in weather, but if someone sends a blind person a map of a building they would be able to see the map no problem. it levels the playing-field at that point. thanks for such a great app, I use it almost daily.
Overall a very useful and important app

Update: someone recently asked me about useful apps for the blind. I told them that this app app was like the Swiss Army knife for blind people. I think that is the Best way to describe this app. I love several of the channels that this app provides. The product, document and short text are great. The document channel especially is great. I purchase another app a while back for $100 and this app works better. I love that I do not have to presss a button to take the picture. I found the person channel fun, but not very useful. I do not find the color channel accurate. I have better success with tap tap See for colors. I used the color channel on a white shirt and when it was on the sleeves it would say grey and on the front or back of the shirt it would say brown. The currency channel is just as good as the other apps available It is very accurate.

I think that this application is really amazing. While I don't have one of the better iPhones to take full advantage of all the features, I fully appreciate it. I think it would be pretty cool though if we could insert pictures directly from the app, especially when training the facial recognition feature. I also think that, if the voices could sound more human like, that would be pretty cool. Would it be possible to get volunteers to lend their voices to such a project? I'm just curious to know since that would definitely be something I would be interested in. Please consider adding Jamaican currency on the list, and I definitely think we need a translation feature. Now that would definitely be cool. Thank you Microsoft, thank you so much for this application. It has really made a tremendous impact on my life.

I use this app for tons of stuff! No more KNFB Reader!. It helps me with clothing selection with colors, I spot-check my mail with short text so I don’t have to sit down with Kurzweill until I know it’s not JUNK! I can use Document for obvious stuff, and the Product for re organizing my kitchen cabinet & putting away GROCERIES—It isn’t as up to date as an I.D. Mate, but it isn’t $1200 either!! I even use it to see if I get the TV on when I get lost in the TV vs. Cable-box or Apple TV fight. I EVEN use it to see if I have any BIOS POST errors, or to see if Windows is UPDATING or such when my PCs take forever to BOOT! Needs some flourishes to be added, and I have a few suggestions, (already sent in!) but I try and get ev’body to think of and find new ways to use this app. Microsoft— if you need a Rep / Presenter to travel to conventions, Here I Am!
