Wow, what an oversight: I pasted in an uppercase version of my MD5, and this app generated a lowercase version of the MD5…it was a match, technically, but this app claimed it wasn’t because I had capital letters and it created lowercase letters. Kind of appalled that the developers never even considered that an MD5 could be written with uppercase letters. I have other niggles over the interface: I pasted in my MD5 while a large file was still processing, and this app gave me the “X” indicating it wasn’t a match…seems like it should know that the file was in-process and maybe held off judgment. Further, once the file completed and the MD5 was actually a match, the “X” remained until I cut and paste my MD5 back in. The activated button looks disabled. I thought I was maybe generating everything but MD2 when I first tried the app; along those lines, would be great if this app just generated all of the MDx/SHAx values at once, so you don’t have to preselect. The drop operation sends the icon back to the Finder, making it look like the drop didn’t work. I can live with the UI problems, but the case-sensitive match is just silly, the only reason this is a two-star app.

Love the simplicity and ease of use, just drag and drop a file, then paste your copied Hash for a quick comparison. You dont even need to select the type it selects automatically based on what you pasted. Suports all hash algorithms and best of all its free. How can you beat that? Well done and thanks from a very happy user.
