What is EasyRes? EasyRes is a Mac app that allows users to quickly and easily select resolutions for any connected screen from the menu bar or from the Yosemite Notification Center. It provides live animated previews of screen resolutions before selecting them, making it easier to choose the right resolution size for your needs. The app is Retina and HDTV smart and remembers recently selected resolutions for each screen. It also allows users to add and customize labels for any resolution on any screen.

Install EasyRes app on your Windows in 4 steps below:

Download an Android emulator for PC:
Get either Bluestacks or the Nox App >> . We recommend Bluestacks because you can easily find solutions online if you run into problems while using it. Download Bluestacks PC software Here >> .

Install the emulator:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.

Using EasyRes on PC [Windows 10/ 11]:

Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "EasyRes"
The search will reveal the EasyRes app icon. Open, then click "Install".
Once EasyRes is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including EasyRes.

Great simple app to get resolution you can’t normally get

This app is just pefect for what it does. I just bought the LG5k for my MBP 15” touchbar, but could not get higher than 3200x1800 from the default system display pref. Spent 1:30 hour with apple customer support, they did not know why, went to the store, tested with their LG5k monitor and they could not understand why I could not get the full 5120 * 2880. After installing this app, it became obvious that nothing was wrong with the monitor or macbook, but more that Apple decided to not offer over 3200x1800 res for those monitors (offering only the “retina” options). With this app, you can get access to all possible resolutions of your monitor including the 5120 * 2880 (I settled for the one level down 4096 * 2304, as the full 5k is a little bit too small for me on a 27” monitor). You can even put my laptop monitor at full 3360 * 2100. Anyway, great app, and best of all free. Not sure what other apps can do better. Thank you Chris!
Meets My Requirement

I needed to get more resolutions out of my primary MacBook Pro display. I am a developer and I need to have more screen real estate; more than Apple's scaling with the most text. I don't care for it being retina resolution or not. With this app, I am able to get more text in my screen albeit at 1x non retina resolution. It is not a problem, and if I ever change my mind later on, with this same app I can choose the previously used Apple retina resolution.
Lets me choose 5k Retina resolution that Apple does not offer

I have connected a iiyama 5k display to my Mac Pro via HDMI to a GTX 680. Even though that connection does not officially support the high data rate for 5k, this tool lets me choose the 2560x1440 Retina resolution, which Apple's Display Prefs did not. And I do indeed get a HiDPI image, even though it's not perfectly sharp as I get it with another Mac that has a AMD RX 580 card with a proper 5k-capable DP cable. But it's still much better than a 1x 2560x1440 display.
Simple and useful

From what I can tell, this free app is as functional as some that cost money. I could see a few features that would be nice… * Assign keyboard shortcuts * Hide certain resolutions you know you’ll never want But this is great for my needs: which is lowering resolutions when I’m making a screen capture recording (training videos) or when I’m sharing my screen on Skype meeting calls.
