What is JT2Go?

JT2Go is a free app provided by Siemens PLM that allows users to view 3D JT data on mobile and desktop devices. The app supports JT files generated from nearly all major CAD/CAM/CAE tools and allows for the sharing of detailed descriptions of 3D content throughout an enterprise. JT files can contain geometric definitions of individual 3D models and assemblies, dimensions, model properties, and arrangements of Product Manufacturing Information (PMI) known as Model Views. JT2Go allows users to navigate product structure trees, view predefined model views, and interrogate model properties.

Software Features and Description

1. JT files can contain geometric definitions of individual 3D Models and Assemblies as well as dimensions, model properties and arrangements of Product Manufacturing Information (PMI) know as Model Views.

2. JT2Go is the industry leader for viewing 3D JT data on mobile and desktop devices.

3. JT data can be generated from nearly all the major CAD/CAM/CAE tools available in industry today.

4. The JT file format specification was adopted by ISO as an international standard in 2012 and is available from ISO as IS 14306:2012.

5. Using lightweight JT models detailed descriptions of 3D content can be shared throughout your enterprise.

6. Note: JT2Go for iOS will attempt to load any size JT file.

7. Siemens PLM provides JT2Go free of charge.

8. For best performance we recommend loading JT data no larger than ~30 Mgb.

9. JT was defined by Siemens PLM and is supported through the JT Open Program.

Install JT2Go app on your Windows in 4 steps below:

Download an Android emulator for PC:
Get either Bluestacks or the Nox App >> . We recommend Bluestacks because you can easily find solutions online if you run into problems while using it. Download Bluestacks PC software Here >> .

Install the emulator:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.

Using JT2Go on PC [Windows 10/ 11]:

Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "JT2Go"
The search will reveal the JT2Go app icon. Open, then click "Install".
Once JT2Go is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including JT2Go.
Now enjoy JT2Go on PC.

To get started, Download the OpenPC software »
- Upon installation, open OpenPC app » goto "Playstore on PC" » click "Configure_Download" button. This will auto-download and install PlayStore on your computer.

To use JT2Go,
- Login to the PlayStore we just installed
- Search for "JT2Go" » then Click "Install".
- JT2Go will now be available on your Windows start-menu.

No clue how to open a file. Tapping the load button takes user to some inbox. How do I get files to this inbox? Instructions on website are worthless.

Ever since the latest IPhone update I can’t open JT files with this APP. There is no option to use this app to open JT files? What the heck
crashes -- due to large file?

I have a .jt file I have viewed in Parallels on a Mac. Seeing this app, I was hoping to view the file on my iPhone and iPad. It was easy to load (on my iPhone), but... it appears that my .jt file crashed the app. My file was just over 500 MB. (Was it too big?) I would have preferred to email Siemens directly, but I couldn't easily find a place to report a bug on their website. 1) Apps should never crash -- this is a serious bug. 2) If there are limitations, they should be made clear. 3) Web sites associated with an app need to support bug reporting. I give it an ok rating because I haven't tried low-stress examples -- and perhaps we are only a bug fix from having it work.
