  • A Great Mac is Nothing without a Great Audio. This Is It

    By Peotic Devil (Pcmac user)

$1. Yes I just broke the bank because setting the audio output with 6 speakers maybe a bit of a conflict with my time. There was days that I would spend hours just to mess things-up and then I would learn be restarting and restoring my system. I’m not 20 anymore so my priorities have slightly changed. Enough ā€œSad Bastard" stories for you, I’ll cut to the chase; it took me less than 5 minutes to setup all my audio line-out(s) and speaker levels. Now that I am enjoying my music, I’m having much more fun poking around with this simple tool. Thank you this app and a message to Apple; listen and learn! … Listen and learn!
  • A Must-Have For Mac Audiophiles

    By fmaxwell (Pcmac user)

Puts audio source switching on your menu bar, where you need it, not buried somewhere in preference menus. Easily switch between audio input and output sources. Āŗ Provides the ability to ā€œhideā€ unused sources, custom-tailoring the menu to those devices that you have. Āŗ Provides controls for sampling rate, volume, and muting for audio devices (based on the capabilities of those devices). Āŗ Provides the ability to set the default startup audio devices (input and output) Unless you just listen to sound coming from your Mac's internal speakers, you need this app! A great application that just keeps getting better, created and supported by a responsive, active developer. Note: Volume control is only supported if the hardware device provides a volume control. Some, like HDMI and optical digital (TOSLINK), do not. Don’t rate the app with one star or post an angry review if this does not provide volume control for your device.
  • Works, and works in Yosemite.

    By nobody0101 (Pcmac user)

Was looking for a convenient way to control a multiple output device (in my case usb/dac driven speakers and a subwoofer which runs off Mac Pro built in Line Out). Reason being that after creating multiple output device in the Midi Audio Setup control panel, you are no longer able to control the volume by media keys on the keyboard, nor with the menu bar widget. This allows me to control each output device separately, and most import from the menu bar - which yes, you could always do it, but had to get into the Midi setup panel. App also creates its own multiple output device, so you dont necessarily need to do it yourself. Just select the devices you want to add to it, without having to drill down into the pref pane to do it. Also allows you to choose the default audio device to set it as the default, much like option clicking the normal volume icon does.
  • Very useful, with a few nitpicks

    By seities (Pcmac user)

The audio switcher is extremely useful when you have multiple inputs and/or outputs. It can even set its default startup devices. One thing that makes this a little less strightforward is how the pop up menu doesn’t close even when it’s not in focus, and I have to go click on the smallish menu icon just to close it. That really is unintuitive, unexpected, and almost doubles the time required to switcht he audio itself. There’s no option to change this in the settings either. Please fix. Thank you.
