  • Limited initial functionality made worse by update

    By UnscriptedFeature (Pcmac user)

I've had this product for a few years and was never entirely happy with its limited functionality. You have very few choices as far as which days you'd like your alarm to turn on (your choices are: weekday, every day, or weekend. Even my phone allows me to pick individual days, so that on MWF when I wake up early for the gym, my phone alarm will automatically turn on without my having to set it the night before. With this alarm clock, I have to remember Sunday, Tues & Thurs to set my alarm to turn on at a different time.) Also, you only have 2 alarm preset slots; so I use one for waking up on MWF, another for TTH, and I'm out of presets. If I want to wake up at a different time on Saturday, I have to adjust one of my presets. Recently, they decided to "update" the app, and since then it's been near unusable. It crashes constantly, I have a hard time turning the alarm on & off using my phone, and the option to set the alarm to a specific radio station is gone. I thought it would just turn on to whatever station it was last on, but no, I woke up to static yet again this morning. This product is a good idea, but the execution is poor, and they just can't seem to get it together.
  • Still works

This app is simple. It helps you set the clock settings on your the app brand products. NOTE that the app only appears to do something when you dock it to the clock. I just replaced the kids' old 30-pin connector the app clocks with the Lightning connected models (got one for me, too) and we use this app whenever the time changes or the power goes out. It has other functionalities such as letting you adjust the clock's dimmer, radio volume, etc. (if your clock has those functions), but we only use the time adjustment feature. It claims to check your firmware and update it when necessary, but we have never seen a firmware update with any of our the app clocks.
  • This update is horrible

    By athynz (Pcmac user)

I have an older the app radio - 30 pin dock - which I used with my older iPhones and the app worked great - although a bit limited and inflexible as far as setting multiple alarms. One year later, purchased an iPhone 6 and had to use a lightning cable - whihc worked fine with the app. Fast forward two years, same iPhone 6 running iOS 10 and this recent update. I cannot control any aspect of the clock with the app and the same lightning cable plugged into the back although it appeared the alarm was set correctly and set to wake me up via the radio station preset. With my job my time to go to work can vary and missed being late one day thanks to my wife, the second time I was an hour late. I was able to utilize the controls on the clock but that defeats the whole point of owning this $100+ clock. This needs to be fixed.
  • Thank you for the update!

    By Macgeekgrl (Pcmac user)

This latest update makes the app a little less visually appealing than it used to be, but it's now fully functional again, so I'll take it! I use the app on a 6S Plus with an iDL100 and was getting frustrated at not being able to turn the alarm on and off, set the brightness, or change modes via my phone after the iOS 10 update. I thought I read that this app wouldn't be supported any longer, so I'd sort of resigned myself to having only partial functionality. I was so happy to see this update, and to find that everything works again as it should!
