1. NOTE: On Yosemite and Mavericks, Safari becomes unstable when Flash is repeatedly killed in quick succession, so FlashFrozen's AutoKill mode knows not to affect Safari on these systems.

2. FlashFrozen lets you stop the Flash plug-in dead in its tracks — letting your Mac cool down and use less power — giving you more time to do whatever it is that you do.

3. In AutoKill mode, FlashFrozen actively stops Flash content at all times.

4. In this situation, please use FlashFrozen's standard mode to kill the Flash plugin.

5. FlashFrozen lives as a tiny menubar app, monitoring the Flash plug-in.

Install FlashFrozen app on your Windows in 4 steps below:

Download an Android emulator for PC:

Install the emulator:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.

Using FlashFrozen on PC [Windows 10/ 11]:

Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "FlashFrozen"
The search will reveal the FlashFrozen app icon. Open, then click "Install".
Once FlashFrozen is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including FlashFrozen.
Now enjoy FlashFrozen on PC.

doesnt work

Even when set to autokill flash plug in, it only mutes the sound. The video still downloads and plays.

Flash is the bane of the Internet, and this app fixes one of its primary issues. Combined with a strategy for blocking most flash content (like ClickToFlash or simply removing the plugin from your primary browser), this app frees you from the issues of Flash taking over your computer. It's not uncommon for a Flash movie to cause a loop in the Flash plugin, burnin' up CPU and crushing your Mac. With this app, you know right away, and can easily kill the plugin from your menubar, recovering your CPU and eliminating the issue. This version supports all of the major browsers for the Mac (Safari, Firefox, and Chrome) so for most this is all you'll need. I'm grateful for it. (FWIW, my strategy is to eliminate Flash from my Safari browser and use Chrome for all Flash content that I actually want to see. I use the Developer menu in Safari to easily open the same page in Chrome when necessary.)
Conflict with Safari 5.1?

Even with the Autokill Flash Plugin activated the fan runs fully on some web pages and battery drains quickly using Safari 5.1. It also doesn't always seem to detect Flash on a page when the Autokill Flash Plugin isn't on. If one reloads the page using Safari's Develop menu setting the User Agent to Safari 5.0.6 this app works fine. If it helps, this is on a early 2008 Macbook with Mac OS X 10.6.8 and all latest updates (except Lion, of course). Sent bug report to Apple too from Safari 5.1. Please fix as this app has been extremely useful until now--would be 5 stars review without this problem.
Dutifully Kills the Flash

Here is another extremely useful product from the humble genius behind the late (but much celebrated) VisualHub. With all due respect to the --ahem-- one star review... please read the information provided before you buy : you can use this to kill Flash "In Google Chrome, Firefox 4, and in Safari on 64-bit Macs". You cannot fault this application for not functioning on a homebrew browser "built on Chromium"; it may be based on an open source version of Chrome but it is a different creature. (Spanish, Italian, and French are all based on Latin but none of them is Latin: Si tacuisses philosophus mansisses!) this app does what it says and does it well. It kills the flash. Ahhh... thank you.
