I really wanted to love this calculator... I really did. I gave it more than a fair shot and it let me down. The interface is beautiful and functional however, that is where the positivity towards this app stops. Loading times are stupid... why does a calculator have a 15 second loading time... really!? Also, there seems to be no other way to clear a calculation other than holding down the backspace button for an indeterminate amount of time. Ok ok... I can totally understand the whole holding down the backspace button to clear... the problem is that the app gives you no indication that the calculation has actually been cleared until you lift your finger off the button. Do you need to hold the button for 2 seconds? 5 seconds? Who knows. This causes a situation where clearing works consistently only half of the time. I don’t know... this calculator could be so much BETTER but it’s almost like the developers only did half their jobs on this one. Maybe laziness? Maybe someone got fired during development? Who knows... all I know is you should save your money ok this one folks. Many other better calculator apps out there. Personally, Solve is my go-to calculator app. You should definitely check out that app and leave this one in the dust.
  • Just keeps getting worse.

It was bad enough when Tapbots decided to toss out all the beautiful designs they had for their apps in favor of the simple line drawn, childishly large numbered designs ( that just plain look horrible ) but now after using the app for years I do an update to the app and now I can no longer use the Tape History feature without PURCHASING a premium for $1.99! Since I ten to trust developers not to screw users by removing function and holding them for ransom I didn’t fully read the update notes prior to doing the update so I don’t know if it was in them or not and I didn’t make a backup so I can’t revert back to the previous version so I have no option but to remove the app. To bad, the app, Convertbot and Pastebot ( the last 2 not even available anymore ) used to be the GOLD STANDARD for app design and where the first apps I would show to friends to highlight how much better apps were on iPhones than other phones. Now I use Tapbots as an example of how bad app design has gotten over time, especially on the iPhone.
  • Limited Functionality

Used the old Convertbot since it was first released and it was, hands down, the best converter APP across all platforms. I work across multiple technical disciplines (aviation, engineering, programming and finance) and travel extensively. the app is a poor substitute for Convertbot. Forget the interface, I can deal with that, but even after purchasing the Pro version of the app, it only has a fraction of the conversions available in the app with no way to select new units as in Convertbot. the app is but no more than average when compared to other converters and a serious disappointment to those who were used to the app. I’d even be willing to pay a subscription fee if the app were again made available. You guys had it nailed with Convertbot and took a giant step back with the app.
  • Became useless after a long time of flawless operation.

I’ve been using the app for considerable amount of time. Purchased it before their was an option for pro. In the last year it has become painful to use. The problem is the delay when opening the app. It begins to pinwheel and freezes while it does I don’t know what. I’m usually going through quickly and when I have to wait 30 seconds about every other time I jump into the app before it’s usable, it becomes extremely frustrating. At times I just need a quick calculator, and the app was my go to calculator. But it’s been such a pain and frustration that I had to leave a review. I don’t know what you guys did to a great simple and functioning app. But it’s broken, and a source of aggravation.
