  • Love it!

    By NewYorkDavid (Pcmac user)

I just downloaded it and ran a couple of tests, and it works amazingly well. It’s especially great when used (as designed) in conjunction with the Boice Dream app. My only suggestions for improvement are 1) Allow it I just downloaded it and ran a couple of tests, and it works amazingly well. It’s especially great when used (as designed) in conjunction with the Boice Dream app. My only suggestions for improvement are 1) Allow it to work on photographs previously on my device; and 2) The optional tone that can be played when an edge is detected could be a lot more quiet and subtle and pleasant and still be equally effective. It would be much more effective, actually, because I wouldn’t feel compelled to turn off that option. Let me suggest two tones: one quick, short (and pleasant) one for when an edge is first detected, and then another for when an edge is no longer detected—and silence the rest of the time.
  • What Exciting News

    By stefmagura (Pcmac user)

I have used Voice Dream Reader for years and have hoped for a scanning app. I haven’t used it yet and will update accordingly when I do. In the meantime, I hope support for exporting to Voice Dream Writer will be included. I do not see this in the description, so forgive me if it is there and I missed it. The reason I mention this specifically, is that it is my experience that even the best scanned documents need a little bit of editing. This could also be because I am still figuring out which scanning program I like the best though.
  • Way better than any other OCR app that I’ve tried

    By Jhm2 (Pcmac user)

I love that this app is truly fantastic! My experience has been that I can truly read things with very high accuracy with this app. I used a number of OCR apps before this app came out. The extent of what I could do with those apps regularly was just to get an idea of what something was. I could usually get them to read just enough accurately to know what it was from the context. There was almost no chance of getting them to read something in detail accurately.
  • awesome App! Document

    By lawrenceperez7676 (Pcmac user)

Great app! I really like The scanning in the edge detection, better than any other blindness OCR App out there. I like how you can import your Photos into the app. The app is easy to use, you can even use a scanning stand that some companies offer where you can place your book on the table, your phone on top of the scanning stand, and you can scan the book quickly using the auto capture feature. Will definitely be using this once I start college. Wonder how it will read math equations though.
