Software Features and Description

1. Inside the display of the match is a link which takes you to a preview of the file, navigating directly to that point in the file where the match occurred.

2. Written originally to navigate around the Swift source project, SearchLight is a small macOS utility that helps you form a new relationship with your Mac's disk.

3. After each file it "greps" out the line in the file where the match occurs so you can see if it is relevant before opening the file.

4. All searches are lightning fast using the same index “meta data” as Spotlight and all in all it makes for a streamlined search experience.

5. When searching for some text, it displays the filename and full path as links that can be clicked on.

6. After that, it operates as a service so you can initiate a search for any text from inside any application.

7. Add the app as a login item to have SearchLight always available on your menubar.

Install SearchLight app on your Windows in 4 steps below:

Download an Android emulator for PC:
Get either Bluestacks or the Nox App >> . We recommend Bluestacks because you can easily find solutions online if you run into problems while using it. Download Bluestacks PC software Here >> .

Install the emulator:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.

Using SearchLight on PC [Windows 10/ 11]:

Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "SearchLight"
The search will reveal the SearchLight app icon. Open, then click "Install".
Once SearchLight is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including SearchLight.
Now enjoy SearchLight on PC.

For Windows 11, check if there's a native SearchLight Windows app here » ». If none, follow the steps below:

To get started, Download the OpenPC software »
- Upon installation, open OpenPC app » goto "Playstore on PC" » click "Configure_Download" button. This will auto-download and install PlayStore on your computer.

To use SearchLight,
- Login to the PlayStore we just installed
- Search for "SearchLight" » then Click "Install".
- SearchLight will now be available on your Windows start-menu.
