What is Lightning Web Browser? Lightning is a minimalist web browser that prioritizes speed of search. It is smaller than other browsers and loads in less than a second. It is based on Webkit and keeps a buffer of many WebBrowser objects in memory, allowing for instant return to previously viewed pages. It also has features such as Lightning Lookup, URL and search item selection, history and bookmarks with editable bookmarks page, preloading of next page, page by page control over Flash content and cookies, trackpad gestures, spelling and grammar checking, and the option to use Google DNS for faster initial page load.
1. Based on Webkit (the already fast core of the Safari and Chrome browsers), instead of unloading browsed pages as you navigate, Lightning keeps a buffer of many WebBrowser objects in memory.

3. Enable the "Lightning Lookup" service and search on selected text from any application in an instant by typing command-@.
