Software Features and Description

1. Furiganify! is a lightweight extension for Safari that adds Furigana reading aids (Ruby characters) to Japanese text.

2. In addition, you can also chose to have furigana added only to Kanji characters beyond a certain school grade or JLPT level.

3. No data about the webpages you visit or their content ever leaves your device.

4. Furiganify only reads the content from webpages you explicitly select.

5. All processing occurs on your device to ensure maximum privacy.

6. Both Latin characters (Romaji) and Hiragana can be used.

  • Not Perfect

By Brooke Likes Music (Pcmac user)

This might be good for beginners but if your Japanese is fairly advanced and you just need the occasional assist, it can be kind of annoying. - I have found quite a few mistakes. - Does not continue working as you browse, so you have to hit the button every time you go to another page. - VERY CLUTTERED. I gave it a three because I would like to see where it goes from here, so I am not deleting it, but it is no replacement for Safarikai which also had a dictionary and only showed the reading if you hovered over a word, so no clutter. Would have given it a 4 if I had not found mistakes.

It does make mistakes on less common words (for a good demo try it on a list of judo techniques) And It'd be much nicer if it had a filter feature like "Simple Furigana" by the same developer has. So I could have it ignore kanji I already know.
