  • How is this not one of the top productivity apps?

    By Caddisbug1994 (Pcmac user)

I love this app. Just bought it for all three of my Apple devices. I have (literally) every to-do app — at least all of the majors. I’ve tried them all. Never really finding one I like. I don’t need something basic like reminders, but also find the other apps far more than I really need. I’m truly in the middle. This is the best. It offers the more advanced capabilities but really packages it in the basics. The seamless integration with Reminders is actually an amazing feature… I can press siri in my car (CarPlay) and tell it to remind me of something and it’s added in here. Other apps can do that but’s not as seamless as this. I love the clean, simple interface that’s not over-designed. I’m really happy so far. If I see the developer contiuing to invest in it, I’ll pay annually for it. Honestly, they need to be more visible in the stores for mac and mobile. I don’t know how I found this app but it’s fantastic.
  • uses Apple's native system, but better.

    By Lrjv (Pcmac user)

I love that I can synchronize with iOS reminders... syncs easily across all my apple devices, meaning I can take advantage of all the native ways to add reminders - Siri's "remind me about this", or remind me to call someone back when I can't take their call right away... Pulls apple calendar events into the to-do list view for easy reference when planning ahead. Updates are frequent and responsive to user needs. Smartlists are customizable ... in addition to the simple one-deep categories I can have on iOS reminders, GoodTaks can index all items and list by priority, by due date, by tag or keywords contained (or not contained) in the task (and tags are of course customizable for everything), I can create lists of lists, or lists of lists with certain tags but not others, etc. Set up quick buttons to add or toggle commonly used tags, or priority, or postpone due dates or open URLs that are attached to the task... Synching with apple's native reminders means I can share simple lists with other iOS users immediately without requiring them to learn to use "my" preferred to-do list app in order to share tasks. Optional subscription or one-time support purchases: this is the best of both worlds. I can support the developer when I have the cash flow but I can still use the product without worrying about "pro" features expiring if I can't pay by a certain date.
  • Completely worth it (goodbye Wunderlist)

    By Emeraldman (Pcmac user)

I was a hardcore Wunderlist guy, but then they were sold to Microsoft and the app was morphed and the name changed to To-Do. Bleh. Besides losing something in translation, after more than a year, they still haven't released a Mac desktop version. So I started a long search for a cross-platform replacement with comparable features. In this app, I found something better. Frankly, I was skeptical of the cost - Wunderlist basic WAS free, after all. However, this app lets you test drive the app and I became seriously impressed. It took me a while to figure out how to use the Smart Lists to organize my daily work tasks, but after some experimentation, it works WAY better than Wunderlist’s subtasks and folders. Wunderlist also doesn’t let you hide subtasks as you complete them, something that annoyed me to no end and something I had complained about to the developers, to no avail. this app will let me do this. There is only one place where Wunderlist is superior - in print options. I use the app to print a hard copy of my current projects for my boss, so we can review them at our weekly meeting. While Wunderlist allows you to print a list of all tasks WITH their subtasks, this app only allows you to print a list of tasks. I hope this app will consider adding this. This is well worth the cost. Great job, developers!
  • Switched from Things

    By J.Naeve (Pcmac user)

I’ve been a Things user for many years. I was skeptical of trying yet another task management tool as I went through the gauntlet of task apps a few times, settling in on Things once again. I saw this app pop up and liked its simplicity so after researching it closer, I thought I’d try it. I’m glad I did. This app is similar to Things but what I like most about it is its seamless connectivity and sync with Exchange & iCloud, not having to use a proprietary and separate sync infrastructure like Things does. The vast majority of my tasks are work related and my company requires using Microsoft Exchange so the connectivity to Exchange is actually very important. While Things is a great tool, simple yet extensive and works across macOS, iOS devices, it only uses one tasks source (i.e. MS Exchange or iCloud, not both) but then pulls that data out of the source and puts it into its own database, removing it from the source. this app on the other hand, works seamlessly with multiple sources, i.e. MS Exchange -and- iCloud or others, retains that data in the source and adds functionality and features that are important to the task and is also replicated across macOS and iOS devices using iCloud and Exchange. Frankly, this app is what “Reminders” should be.
