Software Features and Description
1. As long as AutoMute is running, whenever your Mac goes to sleep, gets locked, or a pair of headphones gets disconnected - the sound is automatically muted.
2. It will also prevent the classic "walk too far away with your bluetooth headset" scenario, where again your mac will take over the sound and allow your co-workers to bask in your embarrassment.

Works on 2016 MBP w TouchBar
By DRW65 (Pcmac user)
This is really great! My iPhone pauses the active sound source when headphones are removed.
Since Mac OS can have multiple simultaneous sources, muting is the next best thing.
I tested briefly with my in-ear headphones and the application did seem to detect the insert and remove events.
The menu-bar status icon is a very nice touch.

Great utility, needs to support muting upon connection
By rantee (Pcmac user)
Great idea for a utility, it works well. One big missing feature for me is muting when headphones *connect*. Often I’ll have my Mac muted, then when I plug in headphones, the computer always remembers the headphones’ last volume.. which sometimes makes for a rude surprise.
