  • Love the app, not the bugs

    By classicsandcocktails (Pcmac user)

I love having all of my recipes organized in one app and being able to search them by ingredients has been a game-changer. We waste so much less food because when we buy something for one recipe but don’t use it all, we can easily find other recipes that also use that ingredient. I find the layout attractive and intuitive and love that I can share recipes easily with others. The auto-import feature is great for the websites it works with, and I don’t mind manually typing out the rest of my recipes. However, I do have a few problems with the app. For one thing, photos load instantly on my iPhone, but very slowly on my iPad. I’ve also had a couple of instances where the photos I uploaded have just disappeared and I need to find the right photo again and re-upload it, which is frustrating. Finally, I’ve found that the app can be really laggy; I’ll tap a recipe and the app won’t respond for several seconds. If I tap multiple times, when it eventually loads, it will re-load the same recipe once for each tap. Overall, this is a great app and it really has made a positive difference in our cooking, but for the price I paid (I bought the app outright, not as a monthly subscription), I find the bugs really frustrating.
  • Excellent. Easy to use.

Did I mention excellent? I've been looking for a way to replace a folder full of recipe scraps. This app is easy to use and the sync is great. Most of my recipes are going in as photos but I've also used the web add options. Besides the very useful search feature, there's also the ability to favorite recipes. I am beyond thrilled with finally getting my recipes organized. I use this app every year to organize my Christmas party. I have 3 years of menus and comments in their own folders. I’ve started a folder for this year to hold new potential menu items. I LOVE this app.
  • Nice but missing some key features

    By wakeywakeytimetobakey (Pcmac user)

I bought this app because the one I was using was no longer going to be supported, and after reading many reviews and seeing that it offered many of the same things as my current recipe saver. It has a nice format and it is easy to edit recipes, but the I’ve noticed it is missing some key features: 1. It does not pull recipes from a lot of websites and, instead, will save a link to the site, whereas my prior one had no such restrictions. 2. I have found that it doesn’t always pull a picture of the dish from the website and I’ve have to go through the puttsy process of saving a picture, adding it the recipe within the app and then deleting the picture from my device. 3. It offers being able to change the background but options are pretty limited. It would be nice if an image from our own files could be used.
  • Love it !

    By Lynn7535 (Pcmac user)

I used to use “Cook’n Recipe Organizer and loved it until they changed to a monthly subscription. I had already paid a lot for their software CD several times. Because I opted not to pay the monthly fee all my recipes I had typed were gone from my computer. I tried the free program of this and loved it. I ended up paying for the version and haven’t regretted it one time. So easy to use and I always have my recipes with me on my phone & iPad ❤️❤️❤️. Thank you for such a great program !
