Outdated directions doesn’t work

Downloaded the required applications on my iPhone 5 running iOS 7 and my Macbook Air running Mavericks… The directions are out of date. Says to enable alert notification in the iPhone’s settings app. There isn’t a notification pane any longer in the settings app. The Blue SMS app doesn’t appear in the notification center pane or the backgrounding apps pane. Unfortunately doesn’t work.
