3DiLLUSTRATOR for Pc

Since I have been modeling my own characters in Blender I thought I would see what this app could do. Panning, zooming, and rotating, are frustratiningly slow. The associated spike in network downloading activity (about ~90 to 150k) must mean that the render is happening on their side. What for? The image is watermarked (and an alpha overlay shouldn't be hard to do realtime) and the models don't seem to have huge polycounts or fancy shaders and effects that couldn't be done on lower end machines. The UI on my 15in MBP feels too small and cannot be resized. As you can see in the screen shots there is a huge amount of that window that is just textured background with no purpose that I can find. (Investigating further I found that clicking the mouse button turned the cursor to text selection making me think this is just a web app bundled into a wrapper. That explains the network activity but not why it isn't using one of the OpenGL wrappers for realtime in web pages on the local system...) I don't think the models are all that bad but equally good royalty free/cheap stuff can be found on 3D model exchange sites. If you need basic character images for a book this might be a place to start but I really think if you are going to do it right there is an untapped army of hobby 3D modelers and animators out there. (Then you could get props, scenes, etc and not just characters.) It would likely still end up costing you something but then your content would be more unique. Unlike the other poster it opened fine on my system and I had no other issues with it.

To create a 3D model and animation is a very hard job for an amateur, you really need time to learn about the 3D softwares and basic knowledges of artist. This App just makes it simple to create your own 3D models and dress them up and then insert them into your ebook, presentation, family movie and website etc to catch eyes. Of course, don’t expect you are going to be a 3D animation designer by using this app, as it is an easy solution for everyone, you can only select models from the App library.

Unlike the other posters, I had no problem running the app. What is amazing is the rendering speed! I'm pretty sure the renders are done real-time on the server side, but whatever render engine they are using is about 100 times faster than my quad core! Looking forward to some more characters on there...

This game is fun to a certain extent. I feel like the solutions it has to offer are not that satisfying. For example, why would you need a 3D character like this for an ebook. It’s cool to dress up the character but after that there’s not much more to it.
