Awesome host, crappy app

I love the app Levin. He’s one of my favorites and knows more then almost anyone. However, this a review about the app and not him. This app has been quite horrible for a long time. If you’re listening to him live then it’s fine, but most of the time I have to listen to his show the next day. His rewinds are horrible. I have to go through the same ad four times in a row just to get to it, then half the time it won’t work if I lock my phone or minimize the app so I had to close it out and then open it back up just to listen to four ads again. When it does work it cuts out all the time, will randomly shut off, sometimes restart itself and I’ll lose my place where I was. I’ve gone through several phones with the same problems. Hopefully you will fix it. Sometimes I just give up and don’t listen to your show because I get tired of battling with the app. Oh well. Been listening for 8 years and have no plans to stop. Please fix it Mr. Producer!!!

As a the app Levin fan it is disheartening to find an app that does not work well for the visually impaired. aside from the fact that it's hard to navigate with all the advertisements and pop ups, just finding the menu can be a chore. I don't understand when you first open the app it plays The most current episode from the middle, not from the beginning. When you finally find the podcast feature and select the episode you want it occasionally does not start the program even after hitting the play button. Also, like the other reviewers said… If you pause the program and come back to it a short time later it will start the program over from the very beginning. I'm sure the app would not be very happy if he found out the complaints about an app his name is on.
THE WORST

Glitchy, shuts off mid show then won’t return you to your place when you get back, instead forcing you to go through their entire commercial line up again. Which brings up the issue of the bizarre commercials when the app opens then same commercials when you click to listen to something. At the end of the commercials your are auto sent to the App Store to buy different app after asking if you can’t sleep. Really the app? You want to send people to other places to buy other products instead of listening to you? WORST APP EVER! I’ve been listening for years and I’m quite sure this app is not up to the app’s standards. Unfortunately it’s been so frustrating I’ve given up and significantly reduced my time listening to Levin. I gladly paid for Rush to get a good app experience.
Shutting down

The app is constantly shutting down for no reason at all. That’s enough of a pain in general, but if I’m listening while in the shower, I can’t just get back in. I end up skipping the show. ALSO: The app rarely lets me control it (pause, fast forward, rewind) from my lock screen. It’s hit or miss...and the miss rate is about 90%. The app is very bad, to say the least. UPDATE: Still stopping all the time when playing a downloaded show. Also playing a video ad on the middle of downloaded shows. When that happens, both audio streams play and there is no way to pause the show and wait for the video ad to end. I think this is what is happening when it shuts off — a video ad, which is supposed to autoplay when the app is started, starts up in the middle of a downloaded show. FIX THIS!!!!! UPDATE 2: Still autoplaying ads while a downloaded podcast is playing. In other words, the show and the commercial are running simultaneously. UPDATE 3: Over the past two days the app has been constantly shutting down. Over the span of about an hour of listening each day, I’ve had to re-start the app about 7-10 times...EACH DAY. This app is AWFUL.
