2. The scope can simultaneously track many signals over time and features a variety of automatic modes that make it easy for you to grasp the behavior of your circuit.

3. You can even export your circuits and PNGs, PDFs, and SVG files so that they are easy to include in reports or web sites.

4. • Arduino simulator! Write Arduino code right in iCircuit to create advanced microcontroller-based designs.

5. The app features a multimeter that you use to probe around the circuit to instantly read voltages and currents.

6. iCircuit is the easiest way to design and experiment with circuits.

7. You do not stop to take a measurement or spend a lot of time configuring reports.

8. If you want to see how a value changes over time, then you can add values to the built-in oscilloscope.

9. There are over 30 elements you can use to build your circuits.

10. The app has everything from simple resistors, to switches, to MOSFETS, to digital gates.

11. Scope data can even be exported for offline analysis.

  • Some things have been improved with the most recent update, others went the wrong direction.

    By ryanfaith88 (Pcmac user)

The most recent update brought a good interface change, in my opinion. There seems to be a few bugs, however - trying to move wires changes to adding more wires, regardless of whether I am in “Edit” mode or “Wire” mode. Also, the ability to have the wires re-route themselves works well, but it seems to favor having zig-zags over as few turns as possible. I’m a physics teacher, and I use this to draw basic circuits for them, as well as showing the charge flow simulations. It works very well for that. I would like to see the ability to change the canvas size in the future. I mostly draw the circuit and then export a picture to a Word document. When exporting .png files, it exports the whole canvas, resulting in a very tiny looking circuit.
  • Love the new interface

this app is an excellent, easy to use circuit simulator. My only complaint in the past was that while the concept of just drawing a circuit and having it work was very nice, the interface felt a bit clunky and out of date. The new interface is much superior, and in line with how a modern Mac app should look and act. Common components have keyboard shortcuts and these are easily discoverable. The previous giant list of components is now broken up into separate menus by category, which makes it much easier to navigate. The new unified UI is both nicer aesthetically and far easier to manage than trying to juggle four separate windows as one had to do with the old UI. There are plenty of other little things, too, that just make more sense. It’s better in every way that I can see. If you’re into electronics at all, or just cuirous about it and want to give it a try, this is the sim to get. Just draw your circuit and watch as it works in real time. It couldn’t be easier or more straightforward.
  • Great simulator for learning!

First of all, the developers are very quick with fixing issues for this app... I emailed their support about the app crashing when I tried to maximize the window and a little over a week later the update came out fixing it! Secondly, this app is incredibly helpful for testing labs and projects for my CPEG course I'm taking this semester. The interface is easy to use, it has a great library, and it's nice to know that the circuit will (probably, assuming wires aren't too short, etc) work before I even go to build it. The only thing that would make this app better and easier to use is if everything (design window, library, inspector, scope) were all integrated into one window. It's a little bit cluttered with all the different parts floating around in separate windows… However, this app is still a fantastic tool and, in my opinion, would be even better with an integrated window for everything!
  • Great App, Terrible support. Needs to be updated!

    By Drummers064 (Pcmac user)

I’ve used this app many times to double check my theoretical problems on paper (for my college ELEG course), without having to physically build a circuit on a breadboard. The downside is that this app occasionally gives incorrect results. If you have a reading that doesn’t make sense, you can highlight the whole circuit and paste it. Then, delete the original and you will see the circuit gives different results. I’m not sure why this happens, but cut and pasting the circuit seems to “refresh” it. In addition, for $9.99 I would expect to have a cross-compatible app that can be downloaded and synced across all devices for only one payment. If you want this app on both your iPhone and your MacBook, you’ll unfortunately have to fork out additional $$$. I’ve contacted the developer several times about this and have had NO reply. They have terrible support for their app.
