1. In fact, if you write a lot, apart from making a search for specific words, there may come a time when you are in doubt whether a certain word has always been spelled correctly: here comes iFindText’s usefulness, since you can make a search of the mispelled word and after a while you will see which of your files contain the mispelled word.

2. As for files created by Apple Pages (with extension .pages), the app relies on Spotlight, so the results of a search depend on how Spotlight is set; and such results may not be satisfactory.

3. With this utility it will be possible to search and locate one or more words or entire sentences in hundreds of documents created by wordprocessors, pagers and similar applications, as well as html, (DRM free) epub etc.

4. Or, clicking the lens icon at the right of a row, you can preview and save the (unformatted) context of the words/sentences found: the additional screenshot shows the context of a search of three words (the found words being colored blu, red and green).

5. To start a search-process, you have only to type one or more words/sentences in the FIND field(s) and drag-n-drop files and folders onto iFindText’s main window or icon.

6. As for files created by Apple Pages, see the last paragraph at the bottom.

7. At the end of the search process, double-clicking a row in the result box, the related file will be launched by the right application, for you to make appropriate editing.

8. • To speed up the search-process, it is possible to tell iFindText which kind of files are not to be processed (in the Preferences).

9. Therefore, do not purchase the app if you expect exact results when querying .pages files.

10. • The Bookmarks Menu helps speeding up the process of accessing folders containing documents that require frequent checking.
