What is Ink2Go?

Ink2Go is a screen annotation and recording software that allows users to write, draw, or highlight on any content being shown on the desktop from any app, save the current desktop with annotations as an image, and record the desktop together with annotations as a video. It also has a whiteboard feature, multiple pages, and an intuitive UI. Download an Android emulator for PC:

Install the emulator:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.

Using Ink2Go on PC [Windows 10/ 11]:

Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "Ink2Go"
The search will reveal the Ink2Go app icon. Open, then click "Install".
Once Ink2Go is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including Ink2Go.

Ink2Go functions

This app appears to perform as promised, which is saying something, given that it is the only screen annotation app I've found that works with Keynote in presentation mode and offers a fullscreen writing space of its own. In addition to being solid software, their support is outstanding. I had an issue with Keynote funcionality. I emailed their support people on a Sunday afternoon. A reply, with the correct solution, was in my inbox before Sunday dinner. Amazing….

Note: The current version 1.6.1 that I downoaded from the app store was way to slow to actually use. However, I contacted support about the problem and got an immediate response back that they had an updated version on their website and it performs perfectly. The app doesn't seem to support full screen apps so if you want to draw over an app you need to run it on the first desktop where the app lives. Not really a big deal but wanted to mention it. Also, I use ScreenFlow as my screencasting app so didn't really test this app for that sorta thing as I don't need it. Drawing on the screen though seems to work pretty well. Using 2008 MBP with 4gb of RAM running OSX Lion.

I’m very happy to report this app is working great! I teach a lot of webinars with GoToWebinar and have always struggled to find a drawing tool that would work with GTW and Keynote. We had been using OmniDazzle but Omni decided to stop supporting it. Every time apple releases a new OS I cringe because I know more stuff will break, but I didn’t have a drawing tool I could use. For the last 6 months my business partner and I have been lugging around 2 laptops each - one with the new OS, and one with an old OS so we could teach our webinars while using OmniDazzle. I have tried this app before but always ran into some type of problem. At first it wouldn’t draw on top of Keynote, then they fixed that but I couldn't activate with key commands to switch between apps - if Keynote was active it wouldn’t activate this app without getting out of the slide show. NO MORE! It’s all working great now! I found some help in the help menu (unlikely I know). There are explicit instructions for getting your OS to allow this app to be activated with key commands. Right now I am thrilled to report I have just taught my first webinar with this app, working flawlessly. Better yet, I now have more options because this app has a lot more features than Omni. I can’t imagine this is a very lucrative market place but I am extremely happy that whoever has made this app has continued to work on it and make it useable. It is really a great app now and you should all consider it, particularly if you are teaching webinars or presenting and need a way to draw on the screen. A quick word to the naysayers - there is a small learning curve. Not much, but a small one. Really look at the key commands, program the ones that will work for you, and get comfortable with the app. Read through the Help section to make sure you’re set up correctly. Check out the preferences. There are a lot of options that I didn’t realize were there. I have had this app for quite a while and just realized all the flexibility. I wish I had dug deeper sooner. I am confident you can probably do anything you want as far as screen drawing with this app.

I am in the process of creating a library of instructional videos. While QuickTime Player does a pretty good job of screen capture, but I really wanted the iSight inset to be able to talk to the viewer in a more personal way. Camtasia or other apps are all in the $100+ dollar range to get that dual-source functionality. Fits a serious niche at a great price. I am very pleased so far.
