★ ★ ★ Password Pad Overview

What is Password Pad? Password Pad is an app that allows users to create multiple note files, each encrypted by a different password, and then take them along on their iPhone or iPad securely. The app has a simple interface and can be used for various purposes, such as storing important information, keeping a diary, writing articles and manuscripts, and emailing encrypted notes.

Software Features and Description

1. - The full version of Password Pad uses Triple DES, which has an effective key length of 112 bits.

2. - It is likely that the most effective way to crack an encrypted text in Password Pad is a dictionary search.

3. The key feature of password pad is its simplicity, which makes it easier to use (no need to fill in pre-existing forms) and also allows it to be easily extended to other uses.

4. Password Pad allows you to create multiple note files, each encrypted by a different password, and then take them along on your iPhone or iPad securely.

5. - Both versions convert the input password into a cryptographically secure key with PBKDF2 using 10000 rounds of iteration.

6. - Added iCloud functionality for easy iPhone synchronization - Password Pad will now remember your file window positions.

7. Each additional bit doubles the amount of time required to brute-force crack the password.

8. - Clicking on the Password Pad icon will automatically open the last file saved if none are opened.

9. Your data is only as secure as the password you choose.

10. “I’ve used other password management tools.... Password Pad has now replaced all of them.

11. The same $10,000 machine would require approximately 197 trillion years to crack a Triple DES encrypted text.

  • NO LONGER WORKS

    By toddclausen (Pcmac user)

This app stopped working for me on both iPhone and Mac this week locking everything I had in there away. Website seems to have been hijacked by someone else and wants me to "update Flash" no thanks I prefer to not get hacked...
  • Poor sync up with the iphone app ... and spendy

    By Jenstrob (Pcmac user)

I was disappointed to learn after spending $5 for the full version for my Macbook that the corresponding app for my phone would be an additional $2 charge. I already bought the software! And even if I WERE to spend the extra $2 - which I cannot bring myself to do, it is so cheap of the developer - the sync up is far from seamless. You have to back up the files from your macbook to a dropbox, THEN manually import them to your phone - they will not sync with your phone. Very awkward, not to mention time-consuming. I guess it's back to storing my passwords on notepad and hoping nobody steals my phone. At least I'll have my passwords with me when I need them.
  • Just as good as the free app!

    By NextToGone (Pcmac user)

I have two iMacs. Today I updated my old Mac and the this app said that it was damaged and I had to uninstall and reinstall. The more I thought about losing my pass words from a pad that I trusted with them the more frustrated I got. I went in to delete and reinstall but the app would not let me. So I went ahead and hit install. It reinstalled in the same location, (No duplicates) and I went to open my original file. WOW! Everything was still there. I could have opened my new Mac and copied and pasted but with something like this it is all about trust. These people knew what they were doing when they designed this! I will never trust another pass pad but this one. Thank you developers!
  • Very Nice App

    By Paintingjack1 (Pcmac user)

The lousy picture on the App Store page doesn't do this app any justice. It's actually pretty nice to look at and super simple to use. It's neat and clean and not cluttered up. It works well too and syncs nicely on my iPhone 4S using the iOS version of the app. When it's saved it appears in the iOS version instantly without any fuss - just make sure to save it to iCloud first. Also, just click duplicate in the app's own little interface window to make a copy and you can save that to your Mac to have a 'back up' copy if you don't yet trust iCloud completely (like me). Or forget icloud and just save it to your Mac. Whichever way, it works just like it should.
