Introduction to Notability for PC:

If you're a creative, sometimes you get stuck. You try so hard to move from point A to point B and you just can't.
In such situations, it's important to have anything that helps you get productive.
In this case, "anything" is an app. Notability was one of the best ranking productivity apps in 2019. It's an app for taking notes.
A lot of people might not seem like it but they're always looking for the perfect note taking app on their play store/app store.
Notability is the newly reformed paper and pen for taking notes. The best thing about it is the inspiration to go digital in taking notes with all the extra enticing features. In any case, you may still prefer literal pen and paper and that's fully allowed.
If you really consider it, pen and paper are just good and might be the core part of your productivity, just like typing on your screen might be. It all depends on what you like.
If you'd like to easily find your notes by searching for them, add pictures to your notes, share your notes easily and add voice notes to your notes, then Notability is most probably for you.
In the same vein, if you'd like to use a user interface that is both simple and easy to use,
Below are the features Notability packs.

FEATURES OF NOTABILITY

1. You can add multimedia content to your notes.
2. It has support for Handwriting Recognition.
3. You can easily search for notes and find it easily, even if the notes being searched are handwritten.
4. You can add audio notes to already written notes if you want that.
5. Notability allows you to access clouds to import your documents if you wish to for extra safekeeping.
6. It supports the import, editing and export of PDFs.

IMPORTANCE AND USE OF NOTABILITY

This software is solely used for making digital notes on just about anything. The idea for the simple UI is that it'll encourage productivity and I have no doubts that you will enjoy using the app.
A student would find Notability app especially useful as it helps equip them with a tool that actually cares the way they take notes.
The idea is, students are not all the same. Some are fast and others are slow. Some are in the middle. With the Notability app, a student could pick the best method of taking notes easily that works for him or her.
It's easy now to see the importance of Notability as its creators were very intentional while creating it.

Pros

  1. The UI is concise and easy to use.
  2. Searching for any document on the app is easy.
  3. There are varieties of options for taking notes.
  4. Voice notes addition to notes is an available option.

Cons

• Voice note navigation is an issue.
• App isn't free.

  • Easy to use

    By Yolie zack (Pcmac user)

I’m using this app post nursing school to help me study for my NCLEX. I also just got an iPad recently too. I wanted to make my studying easy and accessible anywhere. Whether on the bus or waiting for someone. this app is very simple to use so if you are like me and like something that is basic and simple then this is the app ! I read some negative comments but got it anyways and I’m glad I did. I am able to put some study books on the app as well as other pdf books. It’s easy to pass notes via airdrop from my other devices and share documents on my iPhone etc if I want my iPad notes on there. If I don’t- it’s like a clean slate on my iPhone this app. I can have 2 different sets of notes basically if I want more business or personal related goal notes on my phone rather than all my iPad notes. So if you are in school- this is very simple, easy, and legit way to use notes. I even have a digital planner on it too which is amazing. I feel more inspired to be creative and do my goals for the day. If you have a keyboard you can type your notes Incase you don’t want to write but I love to highlight, mark notes, and bookmark certain pages to make it easier to find. I do use the split screen option at times but depends on your study preferences. I like to read first, study, then create a note and hand write my notes to make sure I got the info down.
  • Great app

    By busylife0000 (Pcmac user)

I absolutely love this app. Between work, school, and life, this app helps with notes, and my planners for everything. It’s so much more convenient to carry my iPad around rather than a bunch of books. This app is very user friendly, making it very easy to take notes and convert from the pen to highlighter, etc. You can even search your own handwriting and text from a pdf that has been uploaded in the same file which makes it easy to go back and look for something specific instantly rather than scroll through pages of notes. Great app!!! Update: I recently tried to access my notes on my iPhone, but half of the files wouldn’t sync between the ipad and my phone, which was annoying. I had down time to study and couldn’t because they wouldn’t sync. The only way to fix was to duplicate the file on the ipad so it would sync to my phone. It wasn’t a huge deal for that day, but could potentially be a major issue down the line if you don’t have the original device you used for the notes. Other than that, I still think it’s a great app and recommend it to anyone who is switching to digital notes and who doesn’t want to carry around a bunch of binders/notebooks!
  • Notability is great...but not on iPhone

    By Jason 909 (Pcmac user)

Writing a review of this app is hard. On the one hand, I use it every single day on my iPad. I do a lot of reading/research for my job, so this app has saved me from being buried under an endless pile of paper. I even pair it up with Scanbot so I can quickly scan materials in meetings and then have all my notes/handouts in a single place. Being able to search my handwriting is a game-changer! So is having access to my documents and notes everywhere, including my laptop, and having all changes and edits synced through iCloud. I’ve always wanted to go paperless with ubiquitous access to everything; this app is my hub for that. Which brings me to my chief complaint about this app: it’s iPhone app is terrible. It’s nice to see my notes on my phone if I need to skim something quickly on the go, but basic functionality is missing. You can’t search a document, highlight pages, see all the pages in a document—if you’re looking for something, you can only scroll until you find it. That’s ok if you’re talking about two pages of notes; but if you are looking at a 50 page journal article trying to find something, it’s ridiculous. Competitors have this functionality on iPhones, but this app has never added it. I wish they would! I also wish they would format text-only notes like Google Docs, adjusting text size for a given display without affecting the formatting.
  • Best Notetaking App I found

    By _Music-Lover_ (Pcmac user)

I’ve been using this app for years, and appreciate all the updates that have occurred since then. This app has sufficed all my note taking needs, in and out of the classroom. One feature I would like to see is the ability to rename recordings, and possibly to attach these recordings to individual pages. One thing I’ve tried doing this semester is have the recording function on while at a lecture, but having numerous recordings in a file that grows daily is difficult with the current set up. If you don’t remember the time stamp or recording number for a particular point, you have to guess and listen for a bit to see if it’s right. It’s either that, or guess based on the date the notes were recorded. If you could at least rename the audio files, the app would be more useful. It would also be nice if you could change the paper style of individual pages, as well as a feature that easily allows you to draw geometric shapes (adding a figure on top of a graph sticky or any other element get tricky when you click on the wrong one. Sometimes because of that, the graph background ends up on top, and the figure behind it, rendering it useless). There aren’t really any visible bugs with this version of the app, Would recommend for someone looking for a suitable note taking app, whether it’s handwritten or type. I think the addition of a few features would make it better.
