  • Excellent for a busy family!

    By Yiger (Pcmac user)

My wife and I use this to coordinate our work schedules since we work in different cities with busy jobs. It works great for placing both of our schedules on a single calendar that either of us can edit. You do either have to push the sync button or make a change to a calendar to see any changes someone else may have made-it is not quite as automatic as MobileMe.  The calendar is actually better than iCal on the iphone, because you do not need to open a date to see your appointment.  iCal only shows a dot on the calendar to indicate an appointment has been placed there,  this app allows you to actually see the appointment because the calendar display is larger.  Setup is pretty easy and the website seems to be able to answer most questions. It only takes this app about a second to update after you command it to sync.  Plus, it is free to use unlike the yearly subscription for Apple's program.  After a lot of research, setting up both this app and MobileMe on two iphones and two computers, and using both while watching the programs work on all 4 devices sitting in front of me, I am going to cancel my MobileMe trial subscription before I forget and it starts automatically charging me $99 a year and just use this app.  One last plus to this app- I think it is easier to use than the actual google calendar program on the computer. Well worth the $9.99 especially if you are using this to coordinate the schedules of multiple people!
  • Soooooo close...

    By SaiYeah (Pcmac user)

This app is beautifully done, soooo close to the perfect calendar for the iPhone and really shows the potential of the interface and how pitiful the built-in calendar is, but a few details keep me from being able to use it. The good news - this solves the iPhone's recurring events limitations (Apple, what were you thinking only allowing recurrences up to 2 weeks?!?). You can set recurring events up to 31 weeks from each other. Also, the interface is wonderful - the week view allows you to scroll each individual day so you can see all events if there are more than a few. Sideways scrolling (yeah!) to swipe left and right through days/weeks/months. A year view. Online backup and editing (to Google Calendar). It's also fast compared to Pocket Informant, it's closest competitor from what I can find. The problems - you have the choice of either entering events into this app's iPhone database and not having them available anywhere else, or syncing with Google Calendar but the sync doesn't work well with more complex calendars: If you delete a single instance of a repeating event in Google, it will often still show up in this app. Also, support seems very bad (they didn't respond to my support request and there is very little available on their website). In these two places, Pocket Informant is much better. All in all, this is a really well thought out app that is a pleasure to use but that I can't use because of the problems with Google calendar sync.
  • Great App with greats customizations

    By AppleGirlGenius (Pcmac user)

I've used the free version for almost 3 years before I decided to get the paid version today. Paid version gives you google sync through multiple devices and that was my main reason for upgrading. You get some more customized colors as well. I really do feel if they lowered the price they would easily get more people to buy! I would've bought it 3 years ago if it were .99. Anyway, my one suggestion which would've given it 5 stars is that the custom colors would translate to the other devices if I choose to. For example, I use this app with my spouse. Right now I have a purple themed calendar. She automatically gets that same theme. It would be cool if she could pick her own theme that doesn't change mine. The other thing I would like is if she puts in an event in blue, it should sync to mine in blue. Instead it comes over in purple. I would really want this option the most out of the 2 suggested. I do have to say this, this app and the group behind it really have all their bases covered with every aspect of the development and support by far! Makes me not feel too bad about spending the $9.99 price tag. Keep up the good work! Adding a suggestion. Would like to have current date be shown on app so I don't have to open app just to know what date it is.
  • Finally, an app to replace Apple's Cal as icon #1 on my phone!

    By Li0n (Pcmac user)

Great app! We happy users still get all the benefits of Google cal: sharing, notifications, and such; and now with off-line access. Very very cool. Now I can check my schedule on airplanes, and in cell-holes. Incredible design of views. Well done! I can't believe you found a way to cram all that schedule (an mine is full) data into an iphone. Very useful. Bravo! Would like to see even more use of gestures: double tap to edit item; pinch to show next view up (ex: day->week, week->month), expand to show more detail (next view down); and, better performance on existing gestures (i'm getting a slight delay when swiping). I can't be the first to mention the black and white, and dare I say, ugly, icons on the bottom of the screen. Would like to see a redesign of those. And how about an icon for the 'last view' used, or 'favorite' view. I often find myself in one calendaring session switching back and forth between two views. Landscape view to see longer event names Overall, fantastic app. It does a lot of work already, and I'm looking forward to more. I'll give 5 stars for better icons, better performance, and more time using the app.
