What is EON Connect?

EON Connect is a smart device application that allows you to control up to four JBL EON 600-series speakers using Bluetooth functionality. The app provides access to additional DSP parameters, including three fully adjustable parametric equalizers, Hi and Lo Shelf filters, and speaker delay for compensating speaker positions. You can also control output mixing and apply speaker settings across other EON 600-series speakers through preset creation and recall. Additionally, you can update each speaker’s firmware to the latest version directly from the EON Connect application.

7. NOTE: Due to improvements in the application infrastructure, users of the app before version 1.34 may need to create new settings.

10. If a speaker is still linked to the old app, it may not be able to connect to the new app.

So.... the demo videos of this app are good, the menus are great and I love my speakers. However, I do not see how Harman could allow an app/function like this to go to market with these issues. Judging from the other reviews, I am not alone. The specific problem I have with this app/function is that it does not connect to my speakers via Bluetooth. That problem negates any perceived usefulness. Further to that, any attempt at performing a factory reset on the speakers to get the sync function to reboot does nothing. Would not be so bad if I could manually adjust the crossover in my 618S. It's as if JBL removed/ignored the manual adjustments for basic functions and are relying upon a faulty product to perform those functions, digitally. Not 100% sure if it's the app or the Bluetooth receiver, but all three of my the app 600 series speakers are exhibiting the same behavior, so I am going with app. Please fix this.

this app does a decent at upgrading the speakers. Be aware that build 70 can lock you out from adding the speakers to the network. Once you add the speakers leave them there. I removed mine and now none of them come up in the scan anymore. The network tab shows them as not being part of the network. JBL customer rep suggested a speaker factory reset by powering the speaker with Boot and EQ buttons pressed and waiting for the LEDs to flash. This made the speakers ready to be paired again. The app should release the speakers as unpaired to avoid a factory reset. The app should also provide a help page detailing the factory reset procedure as this would be handy in other situations.

It has the ability to control aspects of the speakers but not as in depth as I expected. It would also be nice to have the ability to link multiple speakers/actions together for the full setup(IE: Change the EQ for multiple speakers at the same time, adjust the volume levels for all speakers at the same time).
