  • Fantastic for writing chord diagrams

    By Flyboo (Pcmac user)

I have scoured the Internet and have downloaded tons of useless applications, I don’t read music and everything I do is by ear. I had a need to write a bunch of court diagrams. There are tons of applications out there but none of them let you sketch your own chords, this app is fantastic. It is easy to use. If they had a pro version I would certainly spend the money to pay for it.
  • Bare-bones basic chord diagram creator

    By Choralriff (Pcmac user)

I searched all over for an app that lets you draw your own the app diagrams and, for some reason, this seems to be a feature left out of most guitar apps. I need it because my guitar teacher has me write out the app diagrams for homework. This app is as basic and stripped down as you can possibly get. It does one thing and one thing only: it lets you sketch out the app diagrams in a progression. You are given a picture of a fretboard segment upon which you can place dots. A selectable number sits next to the diagram so you can designate the number of the fret position. There is a text box at the top for you to name the the app. This is not a the app dictionary, and nothing us automated. It does not name the the app for you or offer any sort of help or reference. After you've saved your the app, it displays it in a progression next to your previous chords. You can save multiple progressions. Like I said, it's very bare-bones. But it's simple and it works.
  • Straight Forward

    By Eonfloyde (Pcmac user)

This is great "free" software for jotting down a progression, or named/unnamed the app charts. I prefer unnamed the app charts for the value of learning movable the app shapes. Great learning tool for students, and easy to export to image file for inclusion in any other software that supports image files (.jpg I believe). In addition, adding a fret position is straight forward. My wish list to the developer is: please add an x for muted strings, allow me to enter the the app name above the diagram, and allow me to input intervals, or notes along the bottom of diagram. I do not care about fingering as much. Last, this is a straight forward no frills app. Furthermore, yes there is software out there that does a lot more, but for the price, simplicity, and what I use this app for is pretty darn good! Besides more is not necessarily better for visual learning.
