Software Features and Description

1. "Find using the harmonic grid more intuitive than a piano keyboard, being able to press in the middle of three circles to get major and minor chords is genius.

2. I love the way you laid out the UI and I especially like that single notes can be tapped first and then dragged seamlessly between notes to produce the chord, then back to another single note if desired.

3. Navichord is a musical instrument and a songwriting tool making music theory a breeze.

4. Learn relations between chords and scales.

5. Get inspired and start writing chords like a pro with Navichord.

6. Trigger chords from your MIDI footswitch.

7. Oh, it is also a powerful MIDI controller with every key and pad being a configurable XY pad (full version).

8. Everything from the pad layouts, scales, new graphics to the sounds work together really well.

9. Also, the new sounds are really, really good (great strings and choir samples).

10. Play along on the on-screen piano keyboard.

11. Save chords to pads.

Select a chord and watch as the chord becomes the new tonic. Usually, a few more rules are needed to setup a tonal area. Among a few choice subdominant minor chords decide on one. Before the phrase is finished there are as many new tonic as there are chord changes. As clever as the system is, a setup to show relationships of the old key to the new or the new tonic to the old. When the Roman numerals show up the expectation for a discernible pattern to be drawn. Hearing the changes while in a search for harmony that fits, may train the ear to listen for the progression better. I just need more to make me believe I have a clue of what's going on. One of the examples had upper structures which was cool but I don't know how that was accomplished.

First, I want to thank the developer for allowing us to try this amazing app before buying it. Now, I know I will buy the full version on payday. But i wanted to review it as I know this helps many other folks considering it. If you are reading this, the first thing you need to do, is download it. You will love it! I immediately went to the Pads screen and selected Choirs for the sound patch playing. Oh my! The sound of the Choir patch is incredible for a free trail app. Not only that, you can select a totally different patch for the main on screen keyboard. I love the ability to rapidly press panic if anything is out of whack, which hasn't happened, but its nice to know its there. The developer is fully involved in receiving feedback and also providing feedback over at the AudiBus forum. Google it and there you will be amazed at how much other users can teach you and how the developer is seeking to assist with making this app the very best app for chords and for many other uses you can think of. For me, being a one man band type of musician, i love the idea of just using the ipad to play several synths in reatime. For one, I like using Midiband 3.1 and i plan to use the app to trigger variation changes, chord changes, and even play a melody all from one single app controlling Midiband. That to me is huge!!! I know not many folks know about Midiband, but it is available in the app store for pennies. It turns your iPad into a full blown arranger keyboard workstation. And the app is going to make it even sweeter. I cant wait for all the updates that are planned for the amazing app. I will buy the full version for sure!
