Software Features and Description

1. TO AppleTV 4th Gen, Chromecast, Nexus Player, Amazon Fire TV, SmartTV, Sonos, Xbox 360, Xbox One or other DLNA devices.

2. If you can't hear the audio of a video, then the audio codec is not supported.

3. If you can't see the video but hear the audio, then the video codec is not supported.

4. Cast webvideos, local videos, music or pictures to a Chromecast, Apple TV or Smart TV.

5. If a streamable video is found on the page you can send it to your TV.

6. The Chromecast can read containers like mp4, mkv, 3gp and m4v, but all these containers can use different codecs.

7. Internal subtitles which are inside the video container don't work, yet.

8. I am just one independent developer working on my apps whenever I can, without a big budget for testing on various devices.

9. Please be aware that the Chromecast only supports a couple of formats.

10. Videos stored on your iPhone, iPad or iPod will be transcoded automatically.

11. You can use the integrated Opensubtitles.org search to add a subtitle manually.

Download and install the LocalCast: stream to TV app on your Windows 10,8,7 or Mac in 4 simple steps below:

Download an Android emulator for PC and Mac:
Get either Bluestacks or the Nox App >> . We recommend Bluestacks because you can easily find solutions online if you run into problems while using it. Download Bluestacks Pc or Mac software Here >> .

Install the emulator on your PC or Mac:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.

Using LocalCast on PC [Windows 7/ 8/8.1/ 10/ 11]:

Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "LocalCast"
The search will reveal the LocalCast: stream to TV app icon. Open, then click "Install".
Once LocalCast is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including LocalCast.
Now enjoy LocalCast on PC.

Using LocalCast on Mac OS:
Install LocalCast: stream to TV on your Mac using the same steps for Windows OS above.

How to download and use LocalCast App on Windows 11

To get LocalCast on Windows 11, check if there's a native LocalCast Windows app here » ». If none, follow the steps below:

Download the Amazon-Appstore » (U.S only)
- Click on "Get" to begin installation. It also automatically installs Windows Subsystem for Android.
- After installation, Goto Windows Start Menu or Apps list » Open the Amazon Appstore » Login (with Amazon account)

For non-U.S users, Download the OpenPC software »
- Upon installation, open OpenPC app » goto Playstore on PC » click Configure_Download. This will auto-download Google Play Store on your Windows 11.

Installing LocalCast:
- Login to your computer's PlayStore or Amazon AppStore.
- Search for "LocalCast" » Click "Install" to install LocalCast: stream to TV
- LocalCast: stream to TV will now be available on your windows start-menu.

Nope, still won't connect after latest update!!

Under the tab "DNLA/Upnp" your app used to connect fine to my "WDMyCloud" drive it used to work great until you redesigned the look awhile back and broke something. Now under "DNLA/Upnp" it still sees my WDMyCloud drive and it shows icons of content including all the photos, videos & music on my drive. BUT it will NOT play anything anymore. When a video or music or photo there is clicked now it says "NOT connected, touch the amber button in the lower right to connect." So then I do that and it just forever reads "Scanning network for devices...". It stays stuck there forever & thus is not working now. It used to work fine & was great until the latest recent updates, (thank goodness your Apple TV app still works). The new iPhone app design looks very nice but since it broke the app from playing anything that it still sees and shows on my drive but will not play any of it then what's the point of having it if it shows the contents but won't play any of it anymore now. (Maybe go back to the simpler design at least it worked then.) Please fix ASAP and then I will reconsider the review, thanks.
Local Cast won’t run in iOS 11

I installed iOS 11 on 2 devices: an iPhone 6sPlus and and iPad mini 2, and Local Cast crashes on both devices after about 3 seconds during the app’s startup. I tried deleting and then downloading fresh copies on both devices as well as shutting down each device and restarting. No luck. FYI, 5 stars because I loved the app when it worked. Hopefully a fix is in the works.

Works with drive video, scrubbing is broken

5 stars for being the first app I can find to cast Google Drive video. However it's not perfect: video scrubbing doesn't work at all, and I usually have to restart the app after each video. Still worth it imo
