Updated Review! Went From “Meh” to “AWESOME!"
By Dark_Athena (Pcmac user)
When I first bought the app, I had several issues and went to another app available on the App Store. It was marginally better, but couldn’t match the ease-of-use of this app. I tried this app again, after a clean install, but was still having issues. I took a chance and emailed the developer.
Imagine my surprise and delight when she emailed back within half an hour! She asked me some questions and after a few email exchanges, she sent a workaround while she did some things on her end. The VERY NEXT DAY, she emailed me a beta version that fixed all my isssues and generally increased the awesomeness of this app by 100%. Sleek and easy to use, it did just what I wanted with no fuss and no flaws.
I couldn’t be happier with this app and this developer. Thank you! Completely worth the four dollars!
Original Review Follows:
I can’t get customer images to apply at all anymore. The tinting issues are still happening for me, unfortunately, and I find it oddly difficult to remove any applied modifications and return the image to stock.
I’ll look elsewhere for a solution.

Love the app, but
By Sparky McMuffin (Pcmac user)
This app is great for quickly customizing folders to stand out on my desktop, but since Maverick, there have been some issues. Custom colors selected from the palette no longer work, and changes don't stick. If I want to tweak the icon after making initial changes, I need to create a new folder, make the change to the new folder, move the contents from the original folder to the new folder, then move the contents back. This is obviously not optimal, and the dev acknowledged on her blog that things had changed under the hood in Mac OS that affected her app's performance. I work around it, but you should be warned before you buy.

Great Application
By Dee7174 (Pcmac user)
I have been using this application for a few years now and it is a great and useful product. It helps me designate which folders are important and which folders are not, simply by coloring them a specific color, using the Folderal app. In addition I have been able to make subfolders within folders and designate them as well.
Great product (I think I said that already). I look forward to seeing what other apps Ms. Sadun has developed.

Despite lack of updates, works great!!!
By 333M333 (Pcmac user)
Usually when an app goes 2+ years without an update, it’s a bad sign. But this app continues to work fantastically. 5 stars. Easy to use. Major help in organizing files. It’s too bad that Apple won’t let the folders appear in their this app-customized form in the Finder sidebar, but they’ll appear everywhere else in the way you want, and this one limitation is Apple’s fault; nothing that this app can do about it. Great app.
