What is LEGO?

Robot Commander is a free app from LEGO MINDSTORMS that allows users to interact with their EV3 robots via Bluetooth without the need for a computer. The app features five pre-built robots, each with unique capabilities, and a widget for creating custom commands.

Software Features and Description

Install LEGO® MINDSTORMS® Commander app on your Windows in 4 steps below:

Download an Android emulator for PC:
Get either Bluestacks or the Nox App >> . We recommend Bluestacks because you can easily find solutions online if you run into problems while using it. Download Bluestacks PC software Here >> .

Install the emulator:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.

Using LEGO on PC [Windows 10/ 11]:

Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "LEGO"
The search will reveal the LEGO® MINDSTORMS® Commander app icon. Open, then click "Install".
Once LEGO is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including LEGO.
Now enjoy LEGO on PC.

To get started, Download the OpenPC software »
- Upon installation, open OpenPC app » goto "Playstore on PC" » click "Configure_Download" button. This will auto-download and install PlayStore on your computer.

To use LEGO,
- Login to the PlayStore we just installed
- Search for "LEGO" » then Click "Install".
- LEGO® MINDSTORMS® Commander will now be available on your Windows start-menu.

Awesome app!!!

This app is great! I haven’t had any problems. It’s wireless (which is great for people like me who are always tweaking something on the design and are back and forth) you don’t need to start a program it’s just hook up and go. The only problem I’ve really had is when I exit the app and go back in to the editor section I have to the build and go back in but otherwise its awesome
Suggestions for the robot

Now I’m not trying to sound like a spoilt brat, but the remote that comes with it is way to small, and the controls are bad, I think you should make a separate remote that uses joysticks and other buttons. On other thing is, you are losing to vex!! Anyway that is my suggestion, so please read this.
How this app could be improved

I like this app mindstorms, it is awesome but I can't say the same for the app. First the build your own controller workspace is too small. Second there are some severe problems with connectivity, sometimes I will let go of the controls and the robot will continue to move, last I think that there should be programmable buttons for the custom controller. Other than that it is a good app.

I like the app, my students love it as well. The problem is the connectivity. It takes almost 3 minutes to find the this app Brick, another 2 minutes to sync. 20% of the time it fails. Whenever we try to make the controls, 75% of the time the app crashes
