  • Why is this app in the App Store?

    By Jiggy Gaton (Pcmac user)

This app has not been updated in 3.5 years, and there is no support for it from the app. So I have to ask, why is it here Apple? That said, I started a project where I had to get a storyboard out FAST, just using screenshots of new some software I was using to create a tutorial for. It was pretty good at that, but quirky (buggy) as heck. There is no help functionality (404 error), but perhaps the developers thought it was too simple an app to warrant - or too lazy?
  • Lots of potential, needs help

By J-Spot Da Fiendish_T (Pcmac user)

Storyboards are the visual outline any film maker needs. This app is a great start for that and at a great price. However, it does need some help. Here are my biggest suggestions for an update. There are times when the elements need to be readjusted, however they aren’t able to be selected to do so. Fixing this would be great. COPY AND PASTE are so needed. It would save time so we don’t have to redraw or place things if they are repeated multiple times. And one of the biggest, when making the storyboard a movie, why is it an .avi file? Seriously? This is a mac app, use a more accepted format than what .avi is anymore. .mp4 will get you further!!!
  • Saved my project

    By Katzcarter (Pcmac user)

Iv been directing short stories with just a shotlist. Now I’m moving on to feature films and I don’t have the time nor money at the moment to hire a storyboard artist. This software has everything a non storyboard artist needs to convey the directors vision.
  • Is it awesome? No. Is it better than hand sketching? Hell yeah!

    By mauna2004 (Pcmac user)

Is it a great program? Nope. Is it kind of buggy? Yep. Does it save time and look great? Yep! I really hate how there aren't many options to change anything. Re-sizing things are a pain. You can't copy a sketch or even a shot so that you can paste it later in the sequence (like in a back and forth dialogue). I wish that adding text to things weren't such a pain. Also, there is no way to really share the darn thing outside of printing a PDF, which is fine, but I mean, when I go to the export menu, there is only one shaded out option (Export as a movie). Also, who the heck wants to share a storyboard as a movie? There's a myriad of problems (or additional features) that should have came with the program. It's really a: Here's a bunch of blank things, put stuff on it, and move it around. If Powerpoint had a better library of characters and props, it'd probably be even better. Oh yeah, you can't change the angle on any of the props…so you have to be creative. Anyways, it's worth the 20 bucks, but definitely not a single penny more. In fact, maybe it's only worth $19.99. And I'm being nice about it.
