  • Better After Update, Still Needs UI Work

    By lawney15 (Pcmac user)

It has gotten better with the past update, and for that I commend the developers. It is almost exactly what I am looking for in a screenwriting app. If the developers could please clean up the user interface, then the application (stability pending) will be my go to application. Mainly the ability to disable the ruler (and improve the look when on in full-screen mode). Retina icons and elements are a must. The ability to disable the box surrounding the text area. The ability to change icons to text buttons. The ability to customize the toolbar. Also, I sometimes have a mouse attached to my laptop, and because of this, I am forced to have scroll bars on my page that is sitting in the center of my 15 inch screen. Could scroll bars be moved the edges of the window instead of the edges of the page? All of these things would greatly improve the user experience with the application. That said, good work so far.
  • As Advertised

    By MolinaRJ (Pcmac user)

I see a lot of reviewers base their experience on ultimately not understanding the purpose behind this app, which are unwarranted. You get what you pay for, and for the price, with it’s essential features, it's a godsend compared to other screenwriting apps. However, the functionality is plagued with a bug other reviewers are commenting about with respect to app crashes. About an hour after purchasing, the app crashed and upon reopening, I couldn’t even delete a single letter without the app crashing again. A note to the app, Inc: please fix this. The updated design, essential screenwriting functions, and price are perfect, but this bug is quickly making me reconsider the purchase. If a fix can’t come soon enough, I recommend their cloud/online platform. Otherwise, hold tight until an update is released. December 2017 UPDATE: the app Support has been outstanding in their response time - special shoutout to Marcel for being helpful with quick, temporary fixes for the app crashes while waiting for a full app update. As for the update, no reoccuring issues yet. ALL apps are susceptible to bugs from time-to-time, but so far this latest update has been fantastic. Thanks the app!
  • Miss The Old Desktop Version

    By Laaren11 (Pcmac user)

I recently got a Mac (regretfully but that’s another story) and because I don’t like the other desktop screenwriting software out there I’ve been using the app Cloud screenwriting - which is great but I still like the old desktop version better. I am using the app screenwriting not because it’s free, but out of preference. The thing is, there’s nothing worse than being in the flow of creating when the internet goes out. (I keep telling people we need to get over this complete dependency upon the internet before we have complete catastrophe on our hands, but that’s another story too). I just downloaded this app but it doesn’t seem to be completely desktop based ????? Can’t tell because my internet is back up. I just wanted to give this feedback, because I really love everything that the app has to offer. Cloud-based programs are great, but if would be even greater if we had desktop versions as backup for when the internet is unavailable.
  • Ok, bare bones - spell dialogue correctly

By The Dude is taken (Pcmac user)

You can tell the creators don’t really know what they are making when they spell dialogue, dialog, the computer term not the spoken word and screenplay spelling, dialogue. Are you making a computer program or a screenwriting software. This app doesn’t seem completely finished. So many blatant bugs. The format always puts 1 space after periods or shifts paragraphs over and looks weird. Not intuitive switching with TAB to the next format. The three most used should be character, dialogue and action. On iphone and ipad I can switch scenes around by dragging, but on mac version you can’t. Always opens at 100% which is tiny, doesn’t remember 150% is what I last used. Keeps the icloud open screen open even after I open a script. the login button keeps saying loging and doesn’t switch to logged in or say my user name. They shouldn’t charge this much for this app and then have it be crappy.
