What is GLD Remote?

GLD Remote is a mobile app designed for engineers to control the Allen & Heath GLD digital live sound mixing console wirelessly. It is compatible with GLD systems running V1.6 firmware and allows for simultaneous control of independent functions. The app is intended for working with the mix and channel processing, providing freedom to walk the room or stage and control the sound right where it is needed.

Software Features and Description

1. An Allen & Heath GLD mixing console running V1.6 version firmware, with a suitable wireless router (wireless access point) connected to its Network port.

2. The GLD console and Remote firmware maintenance version number do not need to be identical, for example Remote V1.60 would run on GLD V1.61. Refer to the Allen & Heath web site for more information and to download the latest GLD console firmware.

3. GLD Remote is an engineer’s mixing tool providing wireless mobile control for the Allen & Heath GLD digital live sound mixing console.

4. GLD Remote and the GLD console can work together to provide simultaneous control of independent functions, for example one engineer using the console to mix front-of-house sound, and another using the iPad to mix monitors on stage.

5. We recommend that you disable any automatic updating to avoid unexpected incompatibility with the firmware version your mixer is running.

6. It gives you the freedom to walk the room or stage and control the sound right where it is needed.

7. This version is for GLD systems running V1.6 firmware.

8. GLD Remote is not intended for system setup or memory access.

9. Several iPads can be connected, each providing independent control.

10. GLD Remote is intended for working with the mix and channel processing.

Download an Android emulator for PC:

Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "GLD Remote"
The search will reveal the GLD Remote app icon. Open, then click "Install".
Once GLD Remote is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including GLD Remote.
Now enjoy GLD Remote on PC.

To get started, Download the OpenPC software »
- Upon installation, open OpenPC app » goto "Playstore on PC" » click "Configure_Download" button. This will auto-download and install PlayStore on your computer.

To use GLD Remote,
- Login to the PlayStore we just installed
- Search for "GLD Remote" » then Click "Install".
- GLD Remote will now be available on your Windows start-menu.

Updated to the latest version 1.6, after having version 1.5, in December 2017. Lost the ability the change the mix with the blue button on the IPad. The blue mix button is not even there now. Doesn't make sense to have the app to do everything else, but not make changes to the aux mixes. You were able to do this before the latest update.

The app worked great on my iPad Pro for months, but now I am receiving a ‘Mixer version error’ for version 1.60. Please fix.

I like the app but having no backward compatibility is not acceptable. I am sure that most people allow their iOS device to auto-update apps and were therefore (not) pleasantly surprised when this app no longer connected to their 1.4x board. Luckily I had an old version sitting in iTunes that I was able to copy over. I would suggest some level of backward compatibility or a way to easily provide the old versions for people who still need it. Not everyone is ready to jump on new board firmware. We need time for the bugs to be worked out.
