Software Features and Description

1. To aid the reader without knowledge of ancient Greek the translation mode will give a literal translation of the Greek text preserved on these pages (with addition of chapter and verse numbers), with explanatory notes showing where this text is different from the Standard text.

2. Thirty leaves of this manuscript, written in about 200 C.E., were found in Egypt and purchased by the University of Michigan Papyrology Collection in 1931 and 1933 (another 56 leaves, not included in this app, are housed in the Chester Beatty Library, Dublin; 18 leaves are missing completely).

3. The app will give you the feel of what it was like reading an ancient Greek book on papyrus, where the text is written without word division, punctuation, headings, or chapter and verse numbers.

4. This app will allow you to leaf through pages of the world's oldest existing manuscript of the letters of St.

5. Welcome to the world of second century C.E. Egypt.

6. Paul (P.Mich.inv.6238, also known in NT scholarship as P46).

  • Doesn't work

    By BarbaraBe (Pcmac user)

The Greek is too tiny to see, the translation does not work at all- I just get a blank box. Three years ago people asked for a zoom feature to no avail. This app needs to be removed from the App Store as it is not maintained at all.
  • Disappointing

By Dave the Theologian (Pcmac user)

I was originally excited about the prospect of this app, but the text of the Greek is too small to read. Would be a good app, if it had a zoom option.
  • Nice App - Not Practical for Use

    By Sarxws (Pcmac user)

Nice concept, but not really usable for reading - especially with an iPhone. A zoom feature is needed. The offline mode is nice.
  • Sounds great

But all I get on the pages are large red question marks :( What can I do?
