What is RAYSTORM? RAYSTORM is an arcade shooting game developed by TAITO and is the second installment in the RAY series. The game is now available in app form for iPhone and features two game modes, two shooting methods, support for MFi Bluetooth controllers, two playable ships, an enchanting soundtrack, added difficulty modes, and Game Center compatibility.

Game Features and Description

1. Manual Mode adds weapon controls (a toggle for the standard shot; fire buttons for the lock-on laser and special attack), providing a more arcade-like play experience.

2. Auto Mode provides automatic, button-free firing for both the standard weapon and lock-on laser, allowing players to take on this challenging game with a single finger.

3. -The Remix Mode provides a new, iPhone-optimized experience with revised difficulty setting, enemy placement, and color schemes.

4. -For the hardcore, Arcade Mode is a faithful touch screen recreation of the original arcade game.

5. One of the highlights of the original RAYSTORM experience was its sound design, perfectly replicated here under the supervision of TAITO's ZUNTATA sound team.

6. Individual rankings have been prepared for each ships and for each game mode.

7. The R-GRAY1 boasts powerful shots, while the R-GRAY2’s lasers are capable of locking on to a greater number of targets.

8. RAYSTORM features two playable ships, each with different combat capabilities.

9. This app is intended for the iPhone 4s or newer,iPad mounted VRAM 1G or more,and running iOS version 8 or newer.

10. A total of 8 difficulty modes are now available, ranging from Very Easy to Very Hard.

Download and install the RAYSTORM app on your Windows 10,8,7 or Mac in 4 simple steps below:

Download an Android emulator for PC and Mac:

One of the most beautiful Japanese shooters ever

Ever since I first played this game in the late 90’s, I was completely mesmerized — by the gameplay and the production values. And I’m glad that I can relive those memories again — right in the palm of my hand. One thing, though: I would like to see an update for the screen to be expanded to fit the 4-inch display of the iPod Touch 5th generation and later iPhones. I believe that would create an even more immersive experience for owners of these devices. Also, I hope an iOS port of RayCrisis is in the works. I will get it for sure :) Keep the awesome games coming!
WHY WONT IT "TOUCH TO START"? IM DONE!!! HELP ME TAITO! FIX THIS!

When I open this app, It obviously goes through the Taito™ Logo and then goes to the Touch to Start screen aka the Start Screen. So I tap to start the game. And it won't work. The words "Touch To Start" just stay there and then fade out and come back and fade out again. You know what I mean but. Anyways, I just stay there tapping my screen so hard that I'm sure that I was on the brink of breaking the iPad Screen. So I played RayForce... Which is not included in this review because this is my review about this app, So this app wouldn't startup. So I just want Taito™ to fix this. They either fix this with an update or they give a refund.

Nice port of a ps1 classic but needs the option to change the screen orientation to get the longer vertical view(portrait) like a true shmup should have. It deserves a 5 star review but this small problem keeps it from getting that perfect rating. I just don't understand why Rayforce had the good view but this one doesn't :/ still a great game though, and a steal at 3.99. Playing on iPhone 6s Plus version 9.2 operating system.

Excellent port of one of the all-time greats. The game's art and audio direction have held up great even after all these years! Only complaint is that I really wish Taito would get around to doing true iPad ports of these classics (en lieu of purely "iPhone" versions).
