1. At the center of the app is a sun from which the user pulls rays of light to form a circular harp of strings plucked by colorful orbiting planets; tilt the device and the orbital planes turn into the branches of a three-dimensional Christmas tree, the stars becoming snowflakes.

2. This new holiday version of Björk's Solstice app from Biophilia is based on a poem celebrating the Christmas season by poet / author Sjon, comparing the solar system to a Christmas tree.

3. In Solstice, Björk plays the “Solstice” song with a specially commissioned pendulum-harp which embodies the idea of gravity that was central to the song’s creation.

4. Solstice was developed with Max Weisel, creator of the bestselling Soundrop App, and Björk's longtime design collaborators M/M (Paris).

The search will reveal the Björk: Solstice app icon. Open, then click "Install".

I love it! But what is it?

Seems like something very avant-garde arty and Swedish. Sometimes there is singing. Sometimes there are bells or harps. Graphics are beautiful. I'll admit I can't make heads or tails out of what it is or what it is supposed to do as there are no instructions. The song goes away and I can't make her come back. It's all mysterious and in a visual/audio grammar I don't have the key to. As we used to say back in the day, "Faarr out!"
Make it 64-but compatible please!

Love this app, one of the early Bjork apps. Now it needs to be updated by the developer to run in future versions of iOS. We're now near the Winter Solstice & Xmas 2017 so perfect time to update -- pretty please!! Thank you!

I thought this app was easy to use. Lengthen or shorten the sticks, and add new rings and flick the planet for more tracks on the hauntingly beautiful song. No tutorial needed :o)

But maybe it's just one of those things where you need to be a huge Bjork fan... I like her stuff and the app is alright, but the price is FLATE ridiculous! It's free now and when I got it....
