If you want to install and use the YouTube Music app on your PC or Mac, you will need to download and install a Desktop App emulator for your computer. We have worked diligently to help you understand how to use YouTube Music for your computer in 4 simple steps below:

Step 1: Download an Android emulator for PC and Mac

Ok. First things first. If you want to use the application on your computer, first visit the Mac store or Windows AppStore and search for either the Bluestacks app or the Nox App . Most of the tutorials on the web recommends the Bluestacks app and I might be tempted to recommend it too, because you are more likely to easily find solutions online if you have trouble using the Bluestacks application on your computer. You can download the Bluestacks Pc or Mac software here

Step 2: Install the emulator on your PC or Mac

Now that you have downloaded the emulator of your choice, go to the Downloads folder on your computer to locate the emulator or Bluestacks application.
Once you have found it, click it to install the application or exe on your PC or Mac computer.
Now click Next to accept the license agreement.
Follow the on screen directives in order to install the application properly.
If you do the above correctly, the Emulator app will be successfully installed.

Step 3: YouTube Music for PC - Windows 7/8 / 8.1 / 10

Now, open the Emulator application you have installed and look for its search bar. Once you found it, type YouTube Music in the search bar and press Search. Click on YouTube Music application icon. A window of YouTube Music on the Play Store or the app store will open and it will display the Store in your emulator application. Now, press the Install button and like on an iPhone or Android device, your application will start downloading. Now we are all done.
You will see an icon called "All Apps".
Click on it and it will take you to a page containing all your installed applications.
You should see the YouTube Music icon. Click on it and start using the application.

Step 4: YouTube Music for Mac OS

Hi. Mac user!
The steps to use YouTube Music for Mac are exactly like the ones for Windows OS above. All you need to do is install the Nox Application Emulator or Bluestack on your Macintosh. The links are provided in step one

  • Better UI before recent updates

    By DeathEagle01
Let me start by saying two things. 1) I've been a YT Red subscriber for so many months that I've lost count. A lot of what people are complaining about on here can be summed up as "I want the features of the paid service without having to pay for it." I'll just leave that as is. 2) Before this recent issue I was greatly enjoying the service and would say it was a 5 ⭐️ app. This one issue, though, has literally changed the way I am able to use the app. My issue is a UI issue. As long as I've been a subscriber (until recently) the controls on the app worked in a specific way. You click a song, the song pops up and starts playing, the playlist is generated, and the controls (play, pause, forward, back, like, dislike etc.) were always at the bottom of the screen. It didn't matter if you had made the single song's album/video as the whole screen, or if you had the playlist up. Now, though, if you have the playlist up you lose all controls. It's just aggravating more than anything. Click song, song pops up in full screen with controls, click on list and lose controls, and then you have to click on the song (or up arrow) in order to get your controls back. I can't understand the logic of forcing that extra step every single time you just want to see your playlist. Maybe it's just me and everyone that I know that hates this change, but I find that hard to believe.
  • Eminem is life and music is universal language

I don’t like You Tube misusing the access I allow and using my likes and downloads against me in a game that I’ve already won. I don’t like the ideals that You Tube must support whereby they would choose to use my listening history against me rather than to help me in this dynamic game that I’ve won a long time ago. However. The application is easy. It is always available. It allows me to escape the reality of North Carolina and enter a world that soothes my soul and music is the cure for all that is incurable. Not to mention you can access what ever content you’d like to access to grow as an individual and soul and it allows one to learn where they are regardless of socioeconomic constraints. The teacher appears when the student is ready and the information is on You Tube. It’s not about degrees it’s about growth. 🦋
  • Good! Suggestion (Please)

    By Crazybubbles101
I love the app and I don't know if there's a way to change this certain thing and I haven't noticed because I overlooked it, but I have one suggestion When I add a song to a playlist it doesn't add it to the top but adds it to the bottom and I was wondering if you could change that so I don't have to scroll all the way down to see if I actually added the song? Maybe you could make it so that there's more options on editing a playlist instead of just being able to move the songs around and deleting them because it's such a bore when I have to do it again and again. It helps when I see the new song I put on the playlist is on the 'cover' for it to know I actually put it in the right one. All in all I do love the app, that's my only request. Keep doing what you do (which is great stuff) and thanks for reading my suggestion, have a nice day •-•
  • Content winner, though lacking some polish and features

    By Caster Shell
Hands down, the most music of any service. If it's a song that was recorded by humans it's probably in here. And will at some point come across your station. End of the day that's what matters most to me for a music service. Exposure to content. That said, the app is missing a few minor convenience features present in other similar services. My biggest peeve, no Windows PC music only mode. I listen to music a lot at work and would prefer not to eat bandwidth for videos I'm not watching. While in power the app has no option to keep the screen on meaning I have to unlock my phone to thumb a song down while driving. And the most minor, no way to thumb down a song that's not currently playing, gotta stop playing the current track, start playing the other one, then thumb it down. Also, why no access to comments?

  • It’s still poor but it’s on the right track.

Love the idea. Poorly executed. There are currently no ways to resume a playlist or album you were listening to if you decide to pause and come back the next day. Or if your phone died. Google Play music would just open and let you hit play without an issue. Also music videos tend to not play unless you toggle the “audio only” switch. This feels non seamless. I also hate the fact none of my play music playlists are here. No easy way to play a music video for the currently playing track like it was on play music without doing a search.

The app is acting all stupid and won’t even let me sign in anymore
  • Better Than ITunes

    By ArnoldTBLlama
First of all you get with YouTube Premium, and it’s way cheaper to use than ITunes, and I find it easier to find creators and songs with YT Music than ITunes
  • CarPlay?

    By appletimemac
Guys, I NEED CarPlay app support, I’m going to have to unsubscribe and resubscribe to Apple Music unless this happens. I’ve been waiting a long time and nothing has been released yet!
  • YouTube Marketing

    By fjdjsjsje
Get rid of Ads that are longer than 5 minutes. It is supposed to be youtube music NOT marketing. I understand you gotta run ads, but you have ads that are an hour long!!!
  • Needs to support more songs

    By Wicked_Rat
Most of the songs I listen to on YouTube aren’t there on YouTube Music otherwise the app is perfectly fine.
  • ....

    By Shanandra S.
I pay for the family premium youtube music. I switched from apple music because there are songs that apple does not have that youtube does, with apple I could listen to music when I had no service if I download the songs to my phone and I thought youtube music did the same if you download the song you can listen to it without service but nope. Every time I dont have service I go to my downloads and the song will play for about 10 seconds and then it wont play anymore and its so annoying.
  • Drains battery compared to other music apps

    By NegativeNickk
Compared to Spotify my battery dropped 20% more in the same time. I have YouTube premium so it’s not that the app is open or anything it just kills my battery (iPhone 8plus)
  • Not great app when synced with car Bluetooth

    By Pashya16
I have couple of basic complaints about this app. I mostly use this app while driving, synced my phone with car Bluetooth. When I stop my car and start it next time, I expect app to continue from where ever it has left. Spotify was doing that for me pretty well. But YouTube music just don’t start back. Either it stays paused or Apple Music app takes over and start playing. Another complain is, there is a patch on my route with no network connection. Spotify and Apple Music caching takes care of it and no disturbances are observed. YouTube music seems not handling it well.
  • Is it really "Youtube Music"

    By Vhuuhao
Get Premium to enjoy song though the screen's off? And this app let the Free User use the app that not different from Youtube? Feel like we're using Youtube anymore unless we pay money
