  • No subscription needed

    By Arduous (Pcmac user)

I’m glad to find a book underlining app that let’s me backup to iCloud if I want, without using some proprietary subscription service. The downside is that this app does not (yet) support synchronizing between devices. You can backup one device to your iCloud account then pull that data down to another device on the same iCloud account, but you can’t synchronize back and forth yet. Glad to see it work on both iPad and iPhone. Glad to see search (under Library) work for Book title, author, and your notes. Easily imports books via barcode or title search. Let’s you track progress based on % for ebooks that display that info or via page number for “real books”. Great app; when you add sync via iCloud then I’ll give it 5 stars.
  • Needs Integration

    By ReformedArsenal (Pcmac user)

This is a decent app, especially the visualizations. However, it cannot compete with Goodreads for social sharing. If they utilized the Goodreads API to sync shelves and progress, I would use this app happily and it would easily be 5 stars.
  • Great app for book lovers!

    By terrilee_nc (Pcmac user)

Highly recommended. I've used this app for years and I'm thrilled that it's been updated for iOS 10-thanks, HyperJeff! Social apps for books are all fine & dandy-I use them-but this app is the best if you just want to track your own personal reading, keep a personal book journal and read more! You can customize your lists and keep running notes as you read (you can share your notes if you wish). The graphs are the best! If you love to read, get this app!
  • Hmmm... was good for a little while

    By Scott578369 (Pcmac user)

I was an enthusiastic user of this app for three weeks. The design is attractive and effective. But then when I finished my first book and tried to update the book entry, a bug appeared, the app stopped displaying any chart data, and ever since it has abruptly crashed every time I try to use it. I would delete the app and re-install but I already have a lot of books (and cover photos) loaded into the app and I don't want to lose my data. An e-mailed bug report to the author from three days ago hasn't been answered. I'm still hoping (it is the time of year for vacations, after all)--but the app itself hasn't been updated in almost a year, so I can't exactly say my hopes are high. If the author demonstrates more interest in working on this app (and fixing its bugs), I may return to it. For now, I'm defecting to Goodreads, which seems more reliable, better supported, and has a corresponding website. Reliability of data is paramount. I really don't want to record reading data in an app like this for six months or more and have it all go *poof*. In that respect, I suppose I'm lucky this app flaked out on me as early as it did.
