  • Works as expected

Website says 128gb SD cards can be used and paper manual says max 64gb. You can use 128gb class 10 SD card and I am using one now. You just have to make sure to format using FAT32. Most windows machines require a stand alone formatting program to do this. It will not work with exfat formatting. You can also download videos from the SD card to your phone over WiFi or text them to someone. The preview has the download arrow grayed out (as stated in most reviews) but when you maximize the video to fill screen the link and download button are enabled. To avoid confusion the app should update the app to allow the download and link functions from both screens. The previous review and most reviews I read online are incorrect stating the above two things do not work.
  • Camera and app work well

    By Erocks1960 (Pcmac user)

I recently got the Wifi battery camera and installed the app. It all worked pretty easily and the images are great. I love not having to do any wiring to get it running. I get a notification if movement is detected and I can turn that off if it gets to be too much. My only issue is that sometimes the app gets a play error when playing the video stream. I think this may have to do with my WiFi and where the camera is located as I have a 3 level house. I’m going to experiment with moving the camera and hub to different locations to see if that works. So far a really good experience.
  • Another Amcrest App

    By Brians24 (Pcmac user)

So I love the app and their products. The MAIN problem I have with this app is that it’ll be the 3rd app I have on my phone for an the app product. I have an app for cameras, drones, and now doorbell. My biggest want from the app is to just be able to combine some of these apps. Functionally this app works fine and I enjoy the doorbell product. Cloud service seems to work well enough too. No complaints currently about the app itself, just wish there were less of them!!
  • Cannot download security video clips.

    By DrewMerkle (Pcmac user)

I recently purchased an the app WiFi video doorbell for testing to see if I should put it on my recommendation list. The wide angle video is clear even at night, the motion sensing works well, the notifications are quick, and the two way talk/listen works well. However, as of 21 Nov 2019, for the following reasons, the software is not ready for prime time. 1. Video clips stored on the microSD card in the doorbell cannot be downloaded or exported via the iPhone app. It’s hard to understand how this app could have been released when the controls, which are clearly visible beneath the video clips, are nonfunctional. 2. Users are required to sign up for an the app account in order to use the app and access the doorbell. Use of an intermediary should be strictly optional and there should be a way to connect to the doorbell directly without going through an external server or service. 3. The built-in web services of the device just don’t work. There’s really no excuse for not fixing this. I hope these issues will be addressed ASAP so I can put this on my recommendation list.
