  • Login timeout; don’t waste your money.

    By Gills711 (Pcmac user)

I’ve had these cameras for over 2 years and my networking/technical knowledge is well above average for a non-professional. You will not be happy with this product if your experience is even half as bad as mine—and most other customers have had a far worse experience than I have. You will never be able to rely on the app to function. The updates are infrequent and only serve to undo the workarounds that every customer was forced to build to get the app working after the last update. Just google “the app login time out”. you’ll see how long this problem has existed (through many app updates across every device platform and operating system for years) and the app’s utter failure to fix it. Their recommended fixes are obvious troubleshooting measures that don’t work and most everybody has tried before taking the time to post a review (like force close the app then reopen it, or restart your router). One of my favorites was recommending everybody with the app restore their devices to factory settings then unplugging all the cameras and reinstalling the app before plugging them back in, and it was coupled with a warning that any and all passwords and information stored on the device will be lost. Hilarious right? Not quite as funny as the fact I paid for the cameras. Would have been better to set fire to $100 and then buy a different camera system—I’d have cameras that work and a funny story, and woulda saved a few dollars in the process.
  • Alerts stopped suddenly

    By NewToy4OldTimer (Pcmac user)

This app works well with Apple's iPhone, iOS 11+. However, it fails to send alerts to my Apple iPad 2 also using iOS 11+. It stopped working several months ago. When I open a camera on the iPad I can see what it is aimed at; I can change its view, etc. But the app fails to forward alerts. I deleted and reinstalled the app to no avail. I’ve spoken to the app customer service twice. After redoing steps already done I’m told someone will call me back. No one does. Very frustrating. Any help would be appreciated.
  • Crapware!

    By Scenario1 (Pcmac user)

This app is so horribly designed I don’t even know where to start. It’s really a shame because the app’s 4K camera hardware is pretty good. But without a proper iOS UX, all of that goes to waste. None of this UI makes any sense. The icons are largely inappropriate for standard functions. Standard iOS controls are not used properly. There are misspellings and bad grammar throughout. If you run this app on multiple devices, you have to reconfigure everything. Important concepts are not explained, like how to get rid of that stupid “IPC” text overlaid on your feeds. And perhaps worst of all: It is impossible to get live views displayed at the proper native 16:9 aspect ratio. Scaling and stretching images without providing that as an option is absolutely insulting. All in all, the app needs to fire this Amateur Hour app development team.
  • App works fine

    By Julie775 (Pcmac user)

I'm a 38 y.o. female who can't even figure out how to connect my rabbit ears to my tv and I was able to get my camera connected. Once connected it was difficult to figure out what all the settings were intended to do. There were a lot of acronyms that I didn't know what they meant. I fought the urge to just start pushing buttons. I will have to spend some time on the help pages or google to get it completely set up. So that could be improved. But that is likely an the app issue rather than a web developer issue. Now here's hoping I can bust the landlord sneaking into the house.
