What is In View? The app is called In View and it is an offline augmented reality app that allows users to see what's near them all over the world, including mountains, lakes, places, buildings, etc. Users can manually set their location to a place anywhere in the world to pretend they are there. The app works without the internet and without coverage. It also includes an altimeter, speedometer, and estimates the distance traveled. Users can choose between metric or imperial units. The app relies on the compass and GPS of the device.
1. * Geographical locations: In View displays a limited number of geographical locations from all over the world for free depending on your current location.
2. Turn the phone sideways to view on the camera screen the places that are nearby.
3. What is the name of the mountain you can see in the distance? What are the lakes you see in front of you? Point there with In View and you'll see on the screen what they are called.
4. These products offer all available geographical locations for a specific country or for the entire world.
5. All the data in the OpenStreetMap database, including OpenSeaMap data, is made available under the Open Database License ( ).
6. One way to calibrate the compass is to move the phone in an 8-number manner 3 times: Once when the phone is in landscape, once in portrait and once facing up.
7. Note that using a protective cover on your phone might interfere with the compass.
8. * Selfie mode: See places nearby with front facing camera.
9. In View is also an altimeter, speedometer and also estimates the distance you've traveled.
10. Decide if you want to see places nearby, or famous cities around the world.
11. You only need internet when you use the map or share a picture or video on social media.
