  • Potential, but disappointed

    By BAEHOETA (Pcmac user)

When I first saw this game was able to be preordered I instantly as interested in it. Now it is finally here. Started playing it and liked what I played. It is very different from any other game I have played. Not sure what else the game has to offer though. Other than the story line and what not. Not sure what they plan on adding. I understand what they are trying to do. They let you play the first “level” or as they call it in game the zone. Then after you go to zone 2 it takes you to the main menu and you need to buy the full version. It’s $2.99 which is a little higher than most games. Now from what I have played and seen. That would be worth it except for what? 6 more zones that I can fly through? I also played on the more challenging mode. When I saw the pictures I first though of the game Last Day on Earth which is a great game. This is not that at all. One major thing I would love to see added is multiplayer is just a straight up endless survival. I believe for $2.99 you money is spent better else where. Not that this game isn’t good or doesn’t have potential, but i haven’t played a good game where they give you a few free levels then say purchase full game for more. I was still a little pleased with this game. The mechanics are different in a very good way.
  • Disappointed

    By JeonKi (Pcmac user)

I was instantly disappointed, I thought this game would be just endless survival like minecraft or something. And after Zone 1, you send me back to the main menu. The game crashes all the time, very buggy, and overall very frustrating. I liked the concepts and the controls, but the overall experience was just disappointing. From the previews, it looked like it was going to be a endless survival game, however it was the complete opposite. It’s just like any other level-ed game. Why should I spend my money on this disappointing game? $2.99 isn’t that over priced, but still costs more that your average game.I know your trying to catfish is us much as possible, in your country, 2.99 USD is equivalent to roughly $19 dollars! If you ask me, that is just insane to pay for a game. And even if I do pay that $2.99 extra fee, what are you going to exchange for my $2.99? Like 6 more zones to play in? And then ask me for more money? I don’t mind paying to play a game, I know the developers have work on a game for months and years, and I appreciate that, but this game is just disappointing, I have been waiting for it for over 1 month. You can choose to ignore this comment if you like after all, it’s your game, your company’s wealth, not mine. Best luck to your game :).
  • Epic game ~ Crashes CONSTANTLY

    By TheSporkboy (Pcmac user)

This is a four to five star game which I could play for hours on end. If it would stay open that long. But it crashes all the time, and since there’s no auto save crashing means You loose everything. As a fan of the cult classic movie “The Thing” I love the frozen outpost away from everywhere atmosphere. Unlike most modern monster genre games (and films) it isn’t a constant churn of gore splattering against the camera lens. The monsters are rarely seen but there presence is always felt. But they’re really not the biggest problem. In a frozen Siberian outpost life is a constant struggle against nature. If you don’t collect fuel for heat and light the wilderness WILL kill you. Now this new threat has thrown a wrench into the works terrifying alien monsters make gathering resources risky. You can’t defeat nature. But against these new beasts, maybe, just maybe, you have a chance. At least that’s what it felt like for the first ten minutes or so. And then I had my first crash and lost 100% of my progress. Now I save as often as possible but having to do this through several clicks of a menu is tedious and constantly trying to decide if I need to save keeps me from allowing myself to become fully immersed in a unique and gripping plot line. I find my finger hovering over the game icon on my screen before deciding I’m just not ready for the inevitable disappointment and moving on to something much less compelling but stable.
  • The Thing Wannabe

    By Alleykat2191 (Pcmac user)

At a first glance, this reminded me of the PS2 game, The Thing. While that game isn’t perfect, it’s much better than this. I really wanted to like this game, but why call it this app if there’s no trust or fear mechanism in the game. Yes, people can go mad, but other than the screen changing colors, I see no difference in behavior, even when someone is supposed to be gluttonous or aggressive. It gets a little tedious having to tap each character one at a time. I wish you could move both people at once. Also, having to wait 20 seconds to refuel the furnace and another 10 seconds to eat, then another 20 seconds to collect some wood gets really tiresome. I might be able to forgive all this if it wasn’t for the constant crashing. There’s no patten to it, so I’m always wondering when I should save my game and I’m more concerned about that than the actual game. Maybe I’ll try again once this game-breaking bug has been fixed.
