  • I’m already seeing small improvements!

    By Musician_Man (Pcmac user)

I have been doing my best to get better at sight reading on the guitar (which is the most difficult instrument to sight read music) and I have found this app to be useful in my practice sessions. If there’s a few things that I would like to the app on this app is to have an additional feature for guitarists to read Bass Clef. Going through the list of instruments that I could choose to sight read on, I have noticed that the Cello has two clef choices. So why can’t the guitar? I would think this would benefit well for any performances that would require me to read in Bass Clef instead of Treble. Another thing I struggle with sometimes are the key signatures, instead of grouping them, how about an option that’s similar to the isolate button on notes and be able to practice certain key signatures instead of randomizing? Those are just a few bits of criticism, but overall I still enjoy using this app, and I’ll continue to use it every day.
  • Am I missing something here?

    By StarvingNYCDilettante (Pcmac user)

This is a revision of my original review: I had complained that there was no piano option (bass and treble staffs combined), and the developer reminded me that there are other instruments besides the piano. Fair enough. This app will probably benefit players of melodic instruments, and also help with counting rhythms and is therefore somewhat useful for pianists as well. That, in addition to the attractive and thoughtful interface tells me that it’s a well-developed app, worthy of a better review than I gave it.
  • Really excellent for learning to read... after all these years...

    By Mkeymont (Pcmac user)

If you’re looking to learn to read music, particularly for guitar, this is the best app out there, hands down! 1 bug though, and a feature request: using an Apogee HD interface for my guitar, the first note of every other exercise gets detected as soon as the exercise starts, which falsely gives a wrong answer. When I play my first note, the exercise is on the 2nd note, so I get that one wrong too, and so on. I’ve learned to notice when it happens and restart the exercise, but I get MANY “wrong” answers and it takes down my score, so to speak. Add a 1 - 2 second delay to the start of each exercise maybe?? That and auto-advancing the exercises so that I don’t have to reach over and tap 3 different things just to get to the next exercise. (Tap to clear the cheer screen, tap to load the next exercise, tap to play...)
  • Perfection

By A recent buyer (Pcmac user)

This app is so well designed and an ideal tool for improving sight reading. Works great with my concertina. The developer responded quickly to my pre-purchase inquiry. The tutorial video is very clear and covers everything nicely. The interface is extremely intuitive. Very flexible settings allow the user to match the exercises to playing ability. Highly recommend!
